Yeah... good idea...
I like Paulbot's one (TransFourmers)... cos Trans4ormers is like... Transfourormers. :p
I hope it's not another [adjective/verb] of the [noun] again. Kinda getting sick of sequels with that formula in their names...
Revenge of the Fallen
Dark of the Moon
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
...I just feel it's over done now. Especially considering that 2/3 Transformer movies have already used that formula in their title. Please no "Transformers: Disguise of the Robots" (>_>)
I also hope that the next movie title will be relevant to the movie too. Revenge of the Fallen made sense... cos ya know, the Fallen came along and he wanted revenge I suppose. But does anyone recall seeing any scenes in DOTM that was actually set in the moon's dark side? Or in any particular dark area on the moon? (other than inside the Ark which was actually quite well lit) -- everything seemed to be on the bright side of the moon IIRC. Unless the darkness was a metaphor for the army of evil robots that just conveniently happened to be living there. They must have been whaling.
Trans4mers: The DEATH OF BUMBLEBEE
I hate to be a negatron, but I actually really hate 'Trans4mers'. I just can't picture it with the TF font, I can't take it seriously. Meh
I have nothing else to contribute.
Transformers IV: Ultra Magnus P.I:cool:
TRANSFORMERS
THE CRACK OF MY ASS
Transformers: Obsolescence.
Transformers: Flogging a Dead Horse
Either that or something about the birth of darkness, something about Unicron anyway.
...I actually think "Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye" would sound pretty cool. <shrug>
Transformers: The Hours You'll Never Get Back.
[Yoghurt]"Transfoimers 4: The Soich for More Money"[/Yoghurt]
Transformers Rebirth :p (G1 Reference, since DOTM was an amalgamation of a couple of G1 episodes)
How about
Transformers The Ultimate Doom :p (point above)
Transformers Key to Vector Sigma
Transformers :Casualties of war
Transformers Stuff gets blown up with some hot bird.
Transformers: War on Cybertron :p
Transformers: The Lost Generation
I guess "Target: 2006" is a bit outdated now. :p How about "Samuel Witwicky and the Carwash of Doom"? ;)
Transformers: Boredom of Optimus Prime
(There don’t seem to be any cons left for prime to kill so I'll bet he's bored out of his processor)
Better yet
Transformers: Optimus Snaps
(The plot to the movie is optimus (due to boredom) goes nuts and thinks that all the autobots are decepticons and kills all of them (except bumblebee)
Sam Witwicky the movie
Featuring Bumblebee and Optimus prime
But in all seriousness it'll probably be something like Transformers: Birth of Galvatron or something like that
Transformers: The return of Megatron... Again (This guy is harder to kill then Freddy Kreuger)
Yes the words in brackets would be a part of the title.
Transformers - An Erotic Adventure
So TF:TROMATGIHTKTFK it is then! ;) :D
That's already been done :p
Transformers: The Rise of Slag :D
Transformers: The Search for more Money (quickly before Spaceballs 2 gets made)
''Transformer: Rise Of Erector''
Attack of the G1 Transformers!
Wasn't it called dark of the moon on account of the video stream being purposely disconnected so no one could see what they were really there for, if I recall someone on the other end said to the ship "you are now dark" or something along that lines? Correct me if I'm wrong, probably am. :P
They said, "Neil, you are dark on the rock" <--- note the explicit use of the word on, and not "of". If one were to use the preposition "of" in this sentence, it would indicate derivation, source or origin. However, as they have clearly used "on" as a preposition, it indicates physical attachment (i.e. they are on the moon).
If what you're saying is true, and the film title is meant to reflect the brief moment where Armstrong's crew are cut off from media news broadcast, then the movie should be called "Transformers: Dark ON the Moon", not Dark of the Moon.

Also seems a tad odd to name the entire film after a brief plot device in the story rather than something more significant, like say, the location of the Ark. It'd be as if they named the second movie "Transformers: Shanghai Showdown" or Star Wars Episode VI "Star Wars: Attack on Jabba's Palace" -- all significant plot points, but hard the main or significant part of the overall story that would warrant placing them into the story title <---JMHO anyway :)
Goki, it's a Bay film - naming it after a brief moment hardly seems odd in the grander scheme of the franchise wouldn't you think? :p
Besides, there really isn't any other explanation beyond the word 'Dark' being a cryptic description of the secret the Moon held - i.e. a crap load of Decepticons, confusing the hell out of a lot of Movieverse plot. ;):D
I still love these films though. ;)
I never knew "dark" was a synonym for "secret."
There's a plot?!? :p
I quite like the first film. It was sweet and simple - capturing the spirit of the G1 cartoon pretty well. The other two movies... well... there is a story, but the story is a lot like the kind of stories you make when you play with toys as a kid (or adult) - i.e. excuses to have fights!
Seriously... think back to your childhood to when you and your friends would collaboratively play with toys like Transformers. It'd be like;
"Okay, the Transformers are fighting on Cybertron - PEW! PEW! PEW! The Autobots are flying away on the Ark - zoooooomm! Hahaha, we're gonna escape with the Space Bridge parts!"
"Oh no you don't! Here comes a nasty Decepticon missile!"
"Nuh-uh, this ship's too fast for your stupid missile!"
"Oh yeah, well this missile shoots more missiles at you!"
"What?! How can a missile shoot more missiles?"
"Cos it's secret Decepticon technology, a hundred missiles come out, shwwooooooooosshh!"
"Oh yeah, well the Autobots spin the Ark to dodge the missiles!"
"These babies are heat-seeking missiles - the form a spiral around your ship, there's no way to escape! KA-BOOOOM! Your ship is blown to a million parts!"
"Nuh-uh! You only took out the back engine section! The ship now spins out of control into space where you can't get it and it's precious cargo!"
"What?!? You're cheating!"
"You cheated first with your missiles-shooting-missile!"
"Fine whatever."
"The Ark flies to Earth to provide reinforcements for Optimus Prime and his Autobots there."
"What? You said my missiles destroyed the engines, how can Sentinel Prime fly that thing to Earth and land it safely??"
"Fine, it crashes in the ocean, then Optimus Prime comes and rescues them and the space bridge."
"Don't be slack, let's say it crashes on the moon, okay?"
"Ocean."
"Sentinel Prime can't fly it to the moon with no engines you dummy! Let's say it crashes on the moon."
"Oh alright, it crashes on the moon. Then humans detect it and send a rescue team to the moon."
"How can humans rescue a giant alien ship??"
"*massive.groan* Alright, alright!! Hey, so they send some astronauts to check it out, is that okay?"
"Yeah."
"Crrk, any sign of life?"
"Negative, nothing's alive."
"What?!"
"They crashed on the moon, dude... they're all dead... except Sentinel Prime, we'll say he's not functional."
"*sigh* Okay."
...I could do this for the entire film. ;)
Honestly, the stories in RotF and DotM play like the opening scene in Kung Fu Panda.
"And then he spoke, "Enough talk. LET'S FIGHT!""
The TF movies are fantastic spectacles... but as stories (and remember that cinema is a story-telling medium) I find they're rather lacklustre. If I wanna see the kind of stories I make up as I play with my toys... well then, I'll go play with my toys. Considering the amount of money that was pumped into this franchise, I find the stories a tad disappointing.
They also say that apollo 11 is on the far side of the moon, the side no one can see, is that also sometimes known as the dark side of the moon, and that would explain the name dark of the moon.
Although I don't know what they consider far side of the moon, since if they were on the dark side they would freeze..
Quick astronomy lesson...
There is no 'dark' side to the moon.
The moon is tidally locked with Earth (which explains why we see the same face), but sunlight still hits that far side (otherwise we wouldn't get any phases of the moon).
Apollo 11, like all moon missions was on the near side so we could keep in radio contact.
