Do they know something we don't or are they just speculating as well??????
Edit: And they have also lowered the MP-12 AND the MP-12A price to $99.95.

Apparently TFSource broke the news:
MP-12A is Red Alert
MP-13 is Soundwave
Their prices are tentative (but they say accurate from source), but are as follows:
Both Sideswipe and Red Alert cost $99.95
Soundwave is priced at $159.95
And apparently will be available before Dec this year!
Source:
Since these are the prices for US online retailer, hopefully they will be slightly cheaper from asian online retailers.
Dammit...I cave and get a new Soundwave (or two), and then a month later an MP version gets announced. And I want it.
Lambor looks pretty pricey, might wait on sales for that one.
I still dream of an MP Lugnut though.
Never really thought they'd do a MP Soundwave - there just doesn't seem like there's much room to deviate from the G1 toy.
Really hope the $159.95 pricetag means he'll be bigger than MP Sideswipe - but then again it might just be because there's a Laserbeak or Ravage thrown in.
Regardless, it just wouldn't feel right if he was standing shoulder to shoulder with the midget Sideswipe.
Red Alert is no surprise either - but a welcome bit of news nonetheless
CONSIDER THEM BOUGHT AT THAT PRICE OH YEAH OH YEAH
Imagine if Soundwave is the same size as Sideswipe, but comes packed with 6 (or even 10) Cassettes... now that'd be worth the price.
(Soundwave is simple enough to engineer, so they could spend time and resources on having a BIG compliment of cassettes... if it just has one like the original, I'll be disappointed)
All of this is great news! Reasonable price points, inevitable Red Alert repaint is out of the way straight up, and a confirmation on MP Soundwave! My only hope/wish is that we get a bare minimum of Rumble, Laserbeak and Ravage with him.
Who wants to take bets on whether 13a will be soundblaster:rolleyes:
If they are going to a smaller size with the mp I'm glad that the price is reflecting that. I think that soundwave will still be bigger than sideswipe and the extra cost will get us rumble, ravage and laserbeak. The inevitable soundblaster recolour and hopefully retool should have buzzsaw, frenzy and maybe a new mold ratbat.
Sideswipe and red alert were both short in the original cartoon and I don't mind that the toys look like they are smaller than the new mp prime, that will keep them in scale and as long as the future mp release keep that trend up they wont look out of place.
I'm also going to call it now mp14 will be prowl, 14a will be blustreak and 14b smokescreen
OH NO my wallet is bleeding once again...
Noice!!!! Finally something new for the Decepticons! Will this be exclusive to some foreign country?
from what i read, the cassettes with be in separate 2 packs.
Have you got a link?
Not to slight against TFSource (As they provide extremely excellent service & are a great mob) but until I see/hear/read an Official Statement from an Official Body (Like Hasbro or Takara) I will continue to believe that there is no Official MP Soundwave on the horizon.
(As per my tweet earlier today )
Well, I sure hope it's Soundwave! It's about time he got the MP treatment!!
I want a new MP Megatron too (same size as MP-10 Prime) with better proportions. Seems like third party companies can do better looking figs, so Tomy/Takara should too!
If it really is Soundwave, then I will officially be shocked that HasTak are doing him because I never thought I'd see the day. Just hope he will be a tapedeck :p
I'm really very excited by this! I've thought since seeing the silhouette that it was most likely Soundwave given the curved shape on the upper forearms and the different structure of the legs. The pose looks like Sondwave with his left leg slightly forward and right shoulder slightly tilted down and forward (to me at least, but I do wear glasses!). I seem to remember from one of the interviews about the time of release of MP-10 that the entire series from MP-10 onwards was to be re-scaled all in line with each other. Given MP-11 Starscream was in scale with MP-10 and from the G1 cartoon, Soundwave was sized somewhere between Starscream and Optimus, I'm hoping that MP-13 will be similarly scaled. I'm also thinking about the cassettes and whether they'll be split between this release and a potential MP Soundblaster release (3 now 3 later or something like that), and would classics Ravage that came with Hound fit this scale? But the big question for me is will he be able to transform into a lamppost (or whatever it was supposed to be) like he did in the very first episode of G1?
I think that the darken silhouette was actually the Red Alert as it was too close to the Sideswipe mold and not Soundwave. However awesome news that we will be getting an MP Soundwave and that Sideswipe appears to be a lot more affordable than traditional Japanese MPs.
Looks like MP12 will costs much less than I thought, RK has it up preorder @USD$78....oh yea~

He does but not on that hinge, it is plastic and was broken on mine.
The feet on Roddy and Starscreams spine are diecast. I think the feet and spine of MP-10 is diecast also. I like diecast when used for its structural properties (weight or strength like Roddy, OP & SS) more than the diecast for its finish and feel. And kup, that sillouette is 100% soundwave, just let yourself see it  :p
On the hasbro release it's die cast. This was the only one at my local TRU that wasn't chipped.

Rodimus has big diecast feet doesn't he?
Robotkingdom just posted on facebook that the release date for MP-12 may be wrong & are chasing it up to get the correct date.
I'm glad the prices are down from those initial estimates :)
Re: diecast - I'm not particularly bothered by the lack of diecast metal in masterpiece Transformers, especially since in my experience, figures with diecast parts can suffer from paint flaking and chipping, leaving unsightly grey/silver areas (battle damage?). That said, I agree that it should be used where practical in joints or other areas that carry loads or have stresses placed on them.
Wow, we are thinking total opposites here..
When I got home I had a look on my MP-09b but could not find any diecast around the picture you posted (but we are looking at ever so slighty different versions).
And MP-11 DOES have the same diecast as the MP-03 mould. During transformation you slide the canopy down to form the chest and there is a big diecast frame/rail that it slides on.
just pre ordered the three new masterpieces :D
