After twenty-five years of being sick of being shorter than Fortress Maximus, Scorponok finally does something about it. (I hope there's some clever complexity to the new mould, otherwise that's a ridiculous scale for a simple toy.)
Oh my! I want this:) I hope it transforms:D
holy cow!!! is that like an official masterpiece version? definitely want this, sure to make all those Fort max owners very happy :)
No. It doesn't appear to transform or come with any accessories apart from his shield and gun. Click here for the article on Seibertron
I wonder how much they'll be asking for this two-foot tall Action master?
The images are from JP Wonderfest convention - This posting looks to suggest that it isn't transformable. It could be another one of those one-day licenses of Transformers products that aren't actually produced by TakaraTomy.
(someone probably thought Fort Max should have an equal-sized opponent, but didn't have the time and expense to create a transforming Scorponok)
EDIT - Looks like other people have already posted this while I was typing this.... it is just an articulated actionfigure that doesn't transform, but is in scale with Fort Max, and does have a transformable head (Zarak).
If this comes out in a Black-Zarak version I will be first in line to get it.
I assumed that was some sort of a clip on shield in front of Scorponok's face. Is there somebody that can translate the text on the info card?
While cool, wish it would transform though. Price may be quite expensive if it get a mass production.
Transformable or not this would look sweet on display next to my Fort Max !!!
Imagine this on display with Metroplex, complete with some of the new Legends figures clamouring all over them. Oh god, money cannot exit my wallet fast enough.
This news article has not be good for my heart; I got ridiculously excited and then depressed all within the space of 10 seconds. :(
He does look amazing, I'll give it that, but non-transforming is a deal breaker for me. :)
If articulation is good enough, you might be able to make some sort of scorpion mode, in consolation... :o;)
It's a shame it doesn't fully transformer but.. How hard could it be custom an alt old out of it? A twist here and there, I reckon someone could do it
Looks great, a little disappointed that it doesn't transform! Thinking about it, I probably haven't transformers one of my toys in ages, so maybe it will make a nice piece in the collection. all depends on how it goes for.
It looks like the new size standard for impressing collectors is "2cm higher than Fort Max".
I nearly wet myself when I saw this, but the lack of transformation dramatically reduces my interest.
A massive paperweight. Surely a basis for a Transformable one though.

Pre-orders are up at Amiami. Feeling wealthy?
TRANSFORMERS Gigantic Action Kyofu Daitei Mega Zarak (Scorponok)
TRANSFORMERS Gigantic Action Kyofu Daitei Black Zarak
10% off. How generous.
It looks great. I'm just not sure that (a) it looks $500 great, or (b) that I can afford it even if it does. Trying to decide. Getting it might mean forgoing Generations for all of next year, but then, I'm not that bothered by the combiner thing. Hrgh.
Most expensive action master EVER!!!!
Both figures look great, and I am sure it has been said already but is it worth $500? Not to me.
Especially considering that it's nearly double the price of Fortress Maximus. Fortress Maximus isn't just big, he's beefy (Generations Metroplex is still just a lightweight compared to Fort Max), and he's an interactive playset for other Transformers.
I saw the non-transforming "oversized Actionmaster" Zarak (Scorponok) and Black Zarak listed on Amazon Japan.
They won't ship here, but it lets people know when (Oct 31st), how much (about AU$500), and how big and detailed it is (58cm tall & about 6kg)... in case you were wanting to buy one through other sources.
Just note that they aren't produced or released by TakaraTomy - they are licensed figures.
This guy is on sale for $100 at the moment at HLJ. (80% off) http://hlj.com/product/SET88211/Act
Tempting but the shipping would probably kill it and it is really a giant simplistic toy although nicely sculpted.
The shipping on it is a killer, maybe if its still available next week I grab one
Wow - I thought I got a good deal with getting him for 50% off last year - I should have waited longer
It's a nice figure - though his shield and gun can really weigh the arms down
