I know a lot of people complain about the Blitzwing/Doubledealer mold, but at least it has enough extraneous bits in robot mode that you can make him and Blitzwing look slightly different standing next to each other (for me this means turret up and wings out for BWing, turret down and wings folded back for DDealer).
Rhinox does look good, but not a fan of organic looking alt modes so will pass.
So I know we haven't seen Double Dealer since before All Hail Megatron in IDW. Are we expecting to see him in IDW again and in a new form or is this toy nothing to do with IDW?
EDIT: also I'm thinking I'll get the Takara version of Rhinox, looks more show accurate than what Hasbro has shown.
That Rhinox looks sooo disappointing. Organic transformers have NO place in my collection.:(
Rhinox is probably the only Hasbro figure I'm looking forward to on the horizon:(
If that's the final deco for Rhinox I'm definitely picking up the Takara version. Hasbro's bean counters strike again!!!
The lack of paint on the Chainguns of Doom is still disappointing. The rest of him is faaantastic though.
The chainguns should be easy enough to paint, but good grief does the penny pinching at Hasbro need to be relaxed a bit!
Sure, I understand the multitude of economic pressures they're under but surely they can withdraw the broom handle for the 30th Anniversary figures?, at least for a year!
Rhinox looks great - can't wait. :)
Doubledealer... I really hope that Hasbro does something to address the shoulder problem from Blitzwing. Because fixing that alone would improve the mould so much. It just takes a little effort to make a big difference.
Not sure if you've read these already, but the Spotlights Hot Rod/Arcee/Hardhead/Doubledealer will have your answers on where Doubledealer is in IDW-verse. Appears to be a straight repaint to capitalise off the Blitzwing mould (for a lack of direct repaint opportunities).
IDW Flywheels would have worked.:(
Rhinox is important to me because he's the only toy I've owned since my childhood. Now there's a new version, it may be time to retire the old one, but still. :)
read in another thread can't remember which to use a sharpie paint marker. was looking them up and should i go with the oil or water based ones?
Possible Comics Spoiler: Especially considering that an upcoming solicit lists an Autobot returning from the Dead Universe. You'd think that's either Kup or Nightbeat, but considering Nightbeat is the one getting a new toy, and how much interference there is at the moment in the comics by Hasbro, it seems like a pretty solid lock to assume that it'll be Nightbeat returning.

Rhinox looks superb. His guns can easily be painted, but damn he is looking fantastic. Cannot wait to get mine. Love how he transforms almost like the show heh
:eek:Rhinox is looking excellent:D
Not a fan of Rhinox. Prefer metal to leather. I am getting it though as it's cheaper to get Double Dealer (the one I really want) with Rhinox so might just use it as a book end or something.:)
i'll probably just got with the hasbro version and get some sharpie marks and see how that goes.
I might buy both rhinox and swap the guns over :D
Rhinox better be sold here! Anyone know of cheap online purchases for taktom version?
God damn I want that Rhinox mold in my hands this instant! :D
It looks utterly fantastic, the character has finally received justice outside of a stunning statue ;) - I'll be happy to follow Kaiden's lead with a sharpie marker for his "Chainguns of Doom!", just gimme-gimme-gimme!

video review showing Rhinox transformation.
wow. this toy looks pretty much spot on. i never owned any of the original beast wars toys but i had a look at them on the wiki and they all look pretty bad being deluxe sized and panels everywhere.
which is amazing to see how hasbro/tt have eliminated that problem and made the toy simple yet elegant in execution. i must have this toy.
the only one flaw i can see from the video is how the shoulders lock into place. they definitely look like they wont be able to handle Gok and the next few months we'll have to hear him criticize it :p
Unless that guy has really big hands, Rhinox is looking slightly smaller than I thought he would. I'm not across the current size/scale classes and I know he's been billed as a 'Voyager', whatever that means, but I was expecting something between a Mega and an Ultra from the old BW size classes, yet this video makes him look no bigger than a Mega size.
Maybe I've built him up to be bigger in my head.
I think you may of slightly dude. :o
This bloke was only ever to be in-line with the current Voyager scale (About the same size & mass as Transmetal Primal ;)) but having said that; the idea of a Rhinox sized between the old Megas & Ultras?, that'd be pretty badass! :D
...and good 'ole Peaugh has his video reviews up for both Doubledealer and... Rhinox!!! :D
Rhinox is another great Generations voyager. He looks great with Waspinator and Hasblow owe us big time if they stopped with Rattrap.:p
