Red Alert (2nd production run) is suppose to be released in Q4 this year. It seems a bit awkward to have two re-runs of the same item so close together. Unless the Q4 2014 re-run has been pushed out to early 2015.
And Sideswipe & Starscream just had their re-issues last year. You can still find them on some online stores.
What I really want is a JP Thundercracker reissue. :D
yay to reissue MP10 in April 2015
Have a whole year to save :p
getting Red Alert and Starscream.
My Red Alert still has the wrong head and RK never sent a replacement. Missed out on Starscream as all the online retailers jacked up their prices -_-
Take note guys, I think there is an official Japanese rerun and the ones Hong Kong Just rerun themselves thus you see and ask why.
Also, I may hold back on mp-10 as the Hasbro version is bound to reissue in a matter of time.
Nice to know I waited. I believe a bunch of us who were turned off by the different scale since mp-1 can now recover these pieces.
TRU have never re-issued any of their exclusives tho. If the Hasbro version of MP-10 is re-issued it won't be on these shores.
They're milking it. I hope no one here collects MPs hoping the value to go up over time. Because it's never gonna happen.
Scalpers must be loving it :D
Here's the catch, the entire mp line for Hasbro has rebooted, meaning mp-01, 02, 03 and 04 has now been confirmed and Optimus is going to be along those lines. This may not happen, but it also can happen. I just see how it goes and I will grab the Takara version if nothing comes along but you can't justify the high price when Ultra Magnus is so much cheaper and bigger.
Unfortunately, most Scalpers are the toy shops themselves and those on Ebay. They do control the prices in "some" way whether we like it or not.
And we have new Transformers collectors growing every month, and of course some would have discovered the mp line halfway.
I do agree that 90% of the mp line will be reissued from time to time. But it may take a while.
I was waiting for Hasbro releases on some of the cars but having seen the price listed for Prowl at TRU, Takara looks to be the way to go as these reissues will work out cheaper.
Well those of you that refuse to pay HK or secondary market prices have an option now. Plus this is a great way for Takara to combat the KO's.
Thats probably the best yet and is to make KO not worth anything.
This is why in some ways the hong kong reissues are scalping but is up to individuals to support this. I could not justify why a second run of sideswipe would cost $79 bucks and they have a G2 sideswipe with more stuff at $59.
And my thoughts are, is scalping for remaining demand because they can do it.
Now I can get my hands on Red Alert. Swish
Yes! Gonna gets myself a reissue MP Red Alert! :D
As drifand alluded to before, this year's reissue is from Hasbro Hong Kong (even though it bears TakaraTOMY's logo, it's organised by Hasbro HK). The reissues here appear to be direct from TakaraTOMY for the Japanese market. ;)
I wonder if this reissue sideswipe will have it's paint apps fixed?
awesome - i've been waiting got an MP10... such a long way away
Having joined the MP collection gig late I jumped on the Hasbro Asia Reissue bandwagon for MP11 and MP12 so I paid a fair bit more than this let alone the possible discounts but them's the breaks. I am lucky that both of these figures had no issues so its hard to complain. The only dud MP I've bought was Prowl, it had some serious paint issues and the seller was not interested in helping resolve this. I may pick up the TRU version to replace it with.
might buy the nicer starscream and optimus and red alert.
They are all pretty okay prices as in comparison to Hong Kong Hasbro release.
I am actually surprised if Grimlock doesn't make it to the Japan reissue list.
So are these re-releases going to be available on the likes of HLJ & amiami?
Since these are JP reissues, they should be available on Japanese AND HK online stores.
Love official reissues, gives those who are new to the game (or otherwise missed out) another opportunity to pick these great toys up.
sweet, hopefully can get mp-10! unless current prices come down and i can't wai that long...
Another chance to grab a Red Alert & MAYBE an MP-10 Prime? - Sounds pretty sweet to me. :D
New rumour on TFW2005 - Reissue announcement could be a fake.
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...t-year-17.html
I would say Takara Tomy is not waking up if this is fake.
Too bad, for us but money saved, no harm done.
Yes I still like a mp-10 but I am not desperate to buy a Eva version or YOTH.
Sucks, as I would have bought 3/4 items listed.
We will see, I believe "some will" make it to the reissue.
If true, that's a shame for all those who were keen for a reissue.
As for myself, I'm waiting for a Hasbro Asia reissue of MP-09 with the QC issues from both versions fixed.
The same poster states that a reissue MP10 is on the cards so I think that would keep most people happy considering the other bots listed have already been reissued very recently (in the case of MP14 its not even out yet!).
That TFW person claims that it is fake because his friend is in Japan and asked Japanese dealers.
The Japanese writing for the character names in that original posting is misleading, but I think that these were meant to be Hasbro HK reissues, since the original source of the list was from an Asian fansite (which would deal with Hasbro HK, not, TakaraTomy products).
Plus, as noted by others, Hasbro HK are more known for reissues of JP product than TakaraTomy.
Since Hasbro HK uses TakaraTomy packaging on their releases of TakaraTomy Transformers, it constantly confuses people into thinking that they are coming from Japan for the Japanese market/online stores.
But, we have to check the source of the information, to make sure if it is a JP release or a HK release.
In this instance, I think these are Hasbro HK products, but I'm not sure why they would be using Katakana (Japanese) and Yen in the image.
Perhaps the Asian fansite did up that image to go with a text listing they received.
(BTW, the Japanese yen symbol is the same as the Chinese Yuan... but the prices would be way off if it was a Yuan price)
Yes, if they were Yen pricing I would take them even if they are Hong Kong reissue but chances are that hong kong reissues are priced way higher. I have no idea why there is such a big difference considering The Asian Grimlock and what TRU US is selling.
From the listing I have seen this is coming from hk.
Although I haven't checked on alibaba but none of my japanese contacts are listing these are pre-orders.
I'd still be grabbing one, just wait until closer to launch date.
BTBS is stocking > http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...70&mode=retail
Doesn't look like the right pricing for me, looking 20% marked up from what is initially posted.
It'll be interesting to see what other retailers (esp. those based in Japan) charge.
It's confirmed a fake; no reissues coming
I love my YOTH MP-10, and it's largely due to the mold. I don't have a huge collection, or vast amounts of money for these premium toys, but if they ever reissue a standard MP-10 I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'd have that for a display, and then use my YOTH to play around with coz it's just so damn cool to have in hand.
MP-10 feels like a figure meant to be played with.
