"I attended the Hasbro booth and can clarify some points.

Devy consists of 6 parts with individual robot modes. He is nearly the same height as Metroplex. It's going to be a TRU exclusive and will be officially revealed at New York toy fair. He is very G1esque and looks great. The only thing that's kind of a bummer, is that the individual robots look a bit upscaled, like the upscaled cyberverse Beast Hunters deluxe figures.
But Devastator is an entirely new mold. He also has his own kind of combining ports as far as I could see.

Also, for the RID show, the Minicons will get a comeback. There was a version of Drift on show, which futures a shooting mechanism for the Minicons. Looks a lot like the Warrior class but is called deployers.

Also there were more platinum sets with G1 reissues/ repaints. One set with Blitzwing and Astrotrain, but with strange color schemes. BW was mostly red,while AT orange and white.
the second set includes Blaster and Perceptor Which seems mostly unchanged from their G1 style. Percy had a new accessory, that can fit on his back and looked like sine sort of missile launcher

I updated my post.

With upscaled I mean that they look like they were meant to be deluxe sized. Imagine the Cyberverse figures from Prime Beast Hunters which were upscaled to be deluxe class.

First Aid and Streetwise for Combined Wars were also there.
First Aid looks like he's going to get an Ironhide repaint, while Streetwise reminded me a lot on Beast Hunters Prowl.

I can't tell for sure,but I think Devastator forearms are part of the individual bots.

I only got a rather quick view on the box, but there www no mention it to be a TRU exclusive.
The Constructicons reminded me on the botmodes of the 3rd party Hercules.

First Aid was an entirely new mold, I think. He was glued to the shelf.

Movement on the individual bots looks normally.
Taking photo is very risky and we had to sign a NDA. After the leaked photos, Hasbro covered all the windows to prevent further leaking.
Also the booth was very crowded with employees.

As I said,they reminded me on the Hercules Constructicons.

For the price,I think the employedi mentionits is going to be 160 bucks

I attended a guided tour around the booth. I also saw new Nerf, Marvel legends and Jurassic World stuff

Devastator has indeed ankle movement. He looks quite massive and impressive in person. also he looks very stable.

First Aid was bit of a mix of Animated Ratchet and Universe Ironhide

I haven't read the comics, so I'm not sure about First Aid. I think I saw an axe,so possibly you're right about Rook.
Wave 2 was not shown,so I couldn't compare the two.

No Voyager figures besides wave 1.

The assumed First Aid was mainly white.RID warrio. Class was nothing new on the show.

I need to clarify the TRU exclusive point. I'm not 100 percent sure if the employee means for the European market or if it was meant fire MP Bluestreak. You need to understand, that I was all about looking around,trying to spot and remember interesting details. So don't take that for a fact,that Devy is going to be a TRU exclusive until sine other attendee can confirm.

Streetwise was loose, so i took a little view from the bottom. Looks way more complex then the wave 1 stuff.

Could not catch the individual names, sorry.

Assumed First Aid was only in vehicle mode,but it reminded me on universe Ironhide, so it's not a fact that he'll get an Ironhide repaint. Only an assumption of mine.

I guess after the leaked photos,thwee have straighten the security at the booth,so don't expect more Pictures.

I would tend to compare it more with what it could be like to feed predators without any securing fence ;)

No nothing. The only thing I know,is that there will be a CW Computron.

I think the chances for Predaking or Phiranhacon are pretty good

Streetwise wasn´t glued to the shelf, so I had the chance to look unerneath. Entirely new Mold (I owned BH Smokescreen back then).
The assumed First Aid´s vehicle mode takes design elements of Animated Ratchet and Universe Ironhide, but I´m 99% sure, that it´s a new mold.

Not surprised by the Computron rumour

I'm trying to figure out what a red G1 Blitzwing and orange and white G1 Astrotrain could be about. Shattered Glass? New characters? Feels like there's something obvious I'm missing.

All sounds pretty exciting.

No mention of Trypticon though :(

Could they possibly be just packaged test shot figures that Hasbro rushed so as to get them into Toyfair?

That was my first thought. It may be, considering Blaster and Perceptor were in their regular colour schemes.

I'm glad it sounds like First Aid is a new mtmte-esque mold. Since it was sounding like he was going to be an off-road repaint from earlier rumours.
Defensor will hopefully be really good if everyone but blades is a new mold. :)

I'm honestly a little saddened that CW will stretch into 2016 though. I mean yeah, combiners are great but I was really hoping we'd get beast wars stuff next year. :/

As for the g1 stuff really got no idea what's going on with these new colour-schemes. Future year of the monkey stuff? Test shots?

And finally for Devi I'm happy with everything we've heard (I'd have preferred IDW designs with or without prowl and more complex voyagers but simple is probably better)

Knowing about this stuff ahead of time is a little depressing though since it ruins some of the fun of NYTF reveals next month . But oh well still can't wait to see them

Not necessarily... if the claim that Predaking and Abominus are coming later, they would be in 2016, suggesting a beast theme for 2016 that could lead to additional Beast Wars homages (or just redecos) to go with the Gen1 beast combiners.
This is because there are only a set number of 2015 Combiner toys (16 Deluxe and 6 Voyager) and we know enough to rule out Predaking and Abominus this year.


But I wonder if Hasbro would consider having Beast Wars homage toys become combiners just to be able to release homage toys in the anniversary year. And would Beast Wars fans be willing to accept it if it was the only way to get those toys done. (a bit like a lot of Gen1 fans who have mostly despised the idea of combining Dinobots if they were ever done as a homage)

It isn't like Beast Wars doesn't have its own combiners, though they're a bit different than the G1 ones.

I can't see why they couldn't just drop Best Wars Characters in amongst the toy line, look at Rhinox, Rattrap and Waspinator this year. not officially part of the thrilling 30 but still in the main line.

I thought the Thrilling 30 was Hasbro's 30-odd not-very-special toys that they released last year (the store exclusives and Platinum editions). Didn't think it had anything much to do with Generations apart from Windblade being considered part of it.

If the Computron rumour turns out to be true, I wonder if Scattershot would end up being a heavy retool of Silverbolt. Unfortunately, if Defensor and Computron are the other two combiners we don't know about yet, that would leave the Decepticons with just two combiners, and for those who don't want to buy redecos, make a hard choice between Optimus Prime and Motormaster. It does seem likely, though I wonder what happened to the rumoured first season Autobots who were going to combine with Optimus?

It does leave the question of what the other Voyager might be wide open. I'd hope for another Decepticon, but which one? If they are planning on extending the series to next year, I suppose they could release Onslaught this year and the rest of the Combaticons next. Onslaught would probably be a redeco of Hot Spot, as speculated.

Final point of speculation: it would seem likely that Afterburner and Groove would share a mould. If that is the case, then who would be the sixth member of the Technobots?

It's more likely to come with Tigatron because Cheetor is dead. And Airazor is a legend that becomes a gun.




Oh and Cheetor is in the TakTom release and a TRU exclusive.

If it is true... Computron would be an awesome addition to the CW line up. Computron and Abominus have to be wave mates.

Predaking is the largest of all the G1 combiners, IMO he needs to be 5 Voyager sized toys but not as big as the titan Devastator. :D

I dont think that will happen, I am sure it will be 1 voyager and 4 deluxe but I still will be happy with that.

If it was that or nothing I guess I'd be ok with that, but I'd much rather new non combining molds for the show cast that haven't got them yet.
guess we'll see what the second half of 2016 may bring.

Computron is cool anyway so hopefully the 2016 assortment of combiner wars won't disappoint. Computron, Bruticus?, Abominus?, etc? and if all else fails Maximal Maximus featuring Voyager Optimus Primal, Deluxe Tigatron, Airrazor, Silverbolt and Rhinox and legends Rattrap? :D :p

That would be strange to get YOT(?) repaints before an acurate/original colour G1 reissue. Not saying it's not true - but aren't all the YOT(?) repaints based on molds that have already been released in original colours first?

After my round of rampant speculation yesterday, I was just wondering if this refers to total number of releases this year all in, or just refers to new moulds? If it's new moulds only, that says there should be four full combiners released this year with two voyagers (Optimus and ???) left over. If it's all in then there are still four full combiners but the question of what's what is a bit more vexed. I had a quick search on the usual places and Google, but I couldn't find the specific panel report. Can you shed more light on it please?

They are usually pretty good with those being product numbers, not mould numbers. The last couple years they have quoted numbers in Press Releases for some Beast Hunters and Movie toy classes, and they've matched up exactly... which is good for collectors to know if a line has ended, or been axed.

Thanks. That makes me think the four full combiners are Superion (confirmed), Menasor (confirmed), Defensor (seemingly confirmed), and Computron (rumoured out of Nuremburg). It stands to reason that Hasbro would prefer to have more Autobots than Decepticons, especially given that all of the leader class figures and the sole Titan are 'cons.

The six voyagers are Optimus, Silverbolt, Motormaster, Hot Spot (confirmed by the app), and two unknowns. If I'm right about Computron then I'd suggest that Scattershot would be one of those two, and could possibly be a heavy retool of Silverbolt. That leaves the other one, which I'm still leaning towards being Onslaught as a redeco of Hot Spot, since Hot Spot's mould actually already looks more like a military vehicle than a fire truck.

The deluxes are where the real uncertainty seems to come in. We have eight of those 16 confirmed. Defensor would seem to be a given with an Alpha Bravo redeco for one limb, and First Aid and "Rook" also confirmed. Assuming the rumours and product listings are correct, Defensor gives us the other four limbs. If I'm right about Computron, that then gives us the other four. However, the real uncertainty is regarding the rumour of certain other G1 characters being deluxe redecos of other Autobots (which has the recently revealed Legends Hot Rod backing it up). If that rumour is true - and there's more evidence for it than there is of Computron - then it blows that theory right out of the water, and leaves us with an unconfirmed Voyager yet again.

The resolution to that uncertainty might be that the full versions of Computron and Bruticus are not intended for release this year, since we know for sure that at least the fan-built combiner is intended for release next year. It would be odd for Hasbro to have those torsos out before their respective limbs, but not impossible given that they've so far chosen to mix up limbs for Menasor and Superion.

That does still leave the rumoured Slingshot and Wildrider redecos floating in the wind. I guess they could be exclusives. The existence of Slingshot, at least, is confirmed by the TakTom release but not necessarily its inclusion in Combiner Wars.

To summarise, my guesses based on the available information right now are:

Voyager

Optimus Prime - confirmed
Silverbolt - confirmed
Motormaster - confirmed
Hot Spot - unofficially confirmed via app

I wouldn't be surprised if the next wave they give us an entire combiner figure (Defensor) but following that we just get random releases until next year - Scattershot and Onslaught as voyagers, but not all of their dedicated team/limbs, either the random Autobot cars rumoured, or some of those, and 1ea of the Technobots/Combaticons

Reason being we'd already have three full sets of limbs, and can mix and match as we see fit (remember to look at this from a child's point of view, rather than a collector if possible) and get the rest of the proper limbs the following wave(s)

I just hope that they don't abandon the great case assortments. 4 figures, 2 of each in a case is glorious.

The case assortments have certainly been great for importing Generations Deluxes and most Voyagers throughout 2014.

The only other one which could be of conjecture is the combiner image which had the Hot Rod chest. Chances are this is the masquerade Autobots with Optimus. However, I am still hoping for some sort of IDW tied in story of a Lost Light Combiner with Ultra Magnus.
