I remember all the naysayers saying this would never happen cause of licensing problems etc... let's see them say "nay" now! mwahahaha :D Now bring on Jetfire/Skyfire!
Holy crap!
I didn't see that coming at all!
What he said
They've been busier than we thought! Still no damn Galvatron though! :p
Maybe some will choose to keep their 3rd party versions though, the scale looks to be different (maybe Ironhide instead of Prime's height?)

Um. Crap. Even though I have Quake, I am so buying this.
And they are reissuing Quake now too. Wonder if this will impact sales :p
The rewards after milking us from repaints, funds now allows for development of the main stream :D
Who will they repaint Shockwave and Rodimus as..
Not really digging the thighs and feet yet though.
Sooooooo glad I didn't jump at the Quakewave reissue. :D:D
Really digging this.
Shockwave looks very simple (to transform), unlike other Masterpiece toys that seem to find ways to add extra complexity to them... so maybe that simplicity was intentional to make it more affordable without relying on redecos paying for the mould.
The chest for Rodimus looks wrong though, but there is often some tweeking between grey-scale stage and the released toy.
That's four new moulds for 2016 now (Ironhide, Optimus Primal, Shockwave, Hotrod), which is already more than the average (only 2 in 2015, only 3 in 2014, and only 3 in 2013 when counting the cassette 2-pack as one)... I'm starting to think that that will be all, and the rest for 2016 will have to be redecos.
Since these are only in grey-scale stage and Optimus Primal probably isn't even that far yet, these two would probably end up being mid-2016, and Primal at 3/4 of the year (based on the timeframe of grey-scale to release of past toys).
And the 3P companies cried in anguish. Really looking forward to Shockwave, he'll look mint next to Apollyon and MP-10B
Great and unexpected news.
It was only a matter of time ;)
Now, all I need is a MP Astrotrain and I can retire from collecting
Since when there was going to be licensing issue with shockwave?
The down side is no light up cannon.
Finally a decepticon!
Well hot rod is no longer a shadow
Wicked. As an owner of first-run Quakewave, this is excellent news. Quakwave was never going to last forever but I'm still keeping him becasue its a super solid figure.
It's a bit early to say that the transformation is simple. We have no idea how it does it or even what the alt mode looks like. It will be interesting to see how they do the cannon though and if it parts-forms like Quakewave. I hope that it's somehow all-in-one.
Hooray! :D:cool::D
And my desire to get a Quakewave has suddenly vanished.
I hope there are no import issues, what with his alt mode being a gun and our government being made up by morons :p
sweet!!!
quite the pleasant surprise :D
Since forever, because the original Shockwave toy was actually a toy known as Astro Magnum or Galactic Man (affectionately referred to as "Shackwave") that was owned by another company called ToyCo (a company which still exists today). Evidently TakaraTOMY have managed to secure the rights for this toy's likeness from ToyCo, which is great news (I also wonder if they're now able to reissue G1 Laserwave). It doesn't necessarily mean that all other non-Takara moulds are necessarily available to Takara now though; it all depends. Takara have demonstrated a willingness to use non-Takara moulds when they obtain the rights to them; e.g. shortly after merging with Tomy (who owned the rights for Mechabot-1 (Omega Supreme) and whatever pre-TF Sky Lynx was called), TakaraTOMY reissued Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx.
The Valkyrie VF1S (Jetfire) design is still owned by Big West, and of course, the Macross franchise is still recent/current. IIRC even the original G1 Jetfire toy was never released in Japan. I wouldn't hold much breath for reissues of other non-Takara moulds of TFs that were never released in Japan or ever appeared in Japanese canon; e.g. Deluxe Autobots, Deluxe Insecticons etc. (as much as I would really love to see these toys be reissued; especially the Deluxe Insecticons which were never released in Australia). :(
Wow I've been having a crappy day till now, very exciting news. Have never owned the original Shockwave so this is brilliant. Can I also say that paint of Tracks in the background looks absolutely magnificent.
You heard it here first!! (Post #222)http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showth...=14925&page=23
:D:D
Great news for the fandom.
Oh happy day. I like the cartoony proportions of the upper torso, less static than Quakewave.
Interesting I never thought shockwave is still owned when a cartoon was already made I would have thought a law suit would have surfaced.
As for VF 1s, I hope takara Knows this was stupid as it looks nothing like jetfire or sky fire.. They should not make those toys again.
Pretty sure if someone managed to pan a bit more we will see galvatron lol
2nd digibash of the day :)

sweeeet.
Loving it, the majority of the upper torso looks like an action figure, if there are seams they are well hidden.
I am curious to see what happens with the legs, i'd almost wager that part of the thigh becomes a trigger... maybe.
Come now we need to see alt modes for both shockwave and hot rod.
YUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I contemplated getting quakewave xD ah well sorry third parties ;P.
When are they coming out? xD
Looks good :) Will definitely keep an eye on this one.
Any ideas as to why it doesn't have a masterpiece number?
