looks great, but not at that price. Just like the heli-carrier it will forever be a "lovely to think about, but never purchase kind of set"!
Minifigures will fetch a bounty as well.
That's one hell of a licensing fee.
Wonder if it scales with the existing LEGO modular buildings line.
LEGO have kind of shot themselves in the foot by releasing a more expensive but less impressively sized fire station than what they already have in set 10197 Fire Brigade. We're yet to see the internals, perhaps the gimmicks/screen accuracy will justify the price tag? (although I note the building has no basement so its not off to a great start)
Australian price is $499.99: Australian Price For 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
There's slime bubbling through the sidewalk. Nice touch.
$500... Must resist the urge.
Yep... it's a building.
$500? For that?
Yep, the ghosts in my wallet wont be getting busted for this one........lol.:)Quote:

A lock of Bill Murray's hair.
Should be Harold Ramis. Now, there's a real ghost. (joke) :p
Sure $500 is not cheap, but if you're getting a detailed version of the building (including an interior), then you're getting better value than what Toys R Us are charging Transformers nowadays :p
What no Walter Peck?
Those ghosts, you can get them in the latest Ninjago sets, I'm tempted to buy one of the smaller sets just for some ghosts.
Shame about the price, would have liked this to insert into my Lego city. Slimer & Stuff Puff are coming out in one of the wave 4 Dimensions sets later on, think ill just wait for them for my next Ghostbusters fix.
Interior pics. Oh my...
If I was a Ghostbusters collector I'd be all over this because it is, as the kids of today say 'totally f**kin bitchin!' But it's still pretty damn expensive, even with the detailed interior
Question to all the Lego collectors out there - what's stopping you from creating this yourself? It's only a building right?! Would it be more expensive or take too much effort?
I remember going to the Myer Lego Shows in Adelaide when I was a kid and marveling at all the creations. I'd then bug my mum to buy the 80's spaceship :p
It'd cost you a pretty penny to buy the parts from scratch and the effort required to buy that many parts also cannot be ignored.
However if you already OWN all those parts and don't really care about the custom minifigures, stickered/printed parts and few new and unique parts included in the official set then its actually about as easy as you say.
Some of the bricks in these sets are new/been in very few sets before which makes them crazy expensive to buy in bulk (thinking the red masonry patterned bricks)
The effort to ensure you cross reference and can get everything would be time consuming, and postage would be killer too. I've found for smaller city and other non licensed sets that the price can be far cheaper because of the use of more common elements but mostly building sets without the minifigures from scratch ends up more expensive even before postage.

wow they can slide down the pole lol
Imagine if they made it so the car could fit inside and drive out the garage doors
It does fit inside
My wife bought me the car for Christmas....now I'm thinking about saving for this...
