mmm dunno about u guys but I'm not feeling it. It doesn't look like he'll be able to transform into his iconic city mode...
he looks like a no neck body builder lol.
To be fair, the original did look like a no neck bodybuilder as well:

But the real question is, will he still have the questionably-placed rotating handle on his crotch?
Looks interesting, will be good to get some high res images before passing full judgement. I've never had G1 Fort Max so look forward to getting this one.
Ok, so how long do I have to wait for a Takara Tomy version?
Waiting for better pic...
I am really disappointed to see I'm not feeling it yet (first thing in TW line...)
Are we sure this is real? Could be a fan made fake
Well I'm just gonna say... I love it! Looks like some solid articulation points around the legs. Can't really tell with the arms. The neck does look a little thick but it appears as though the photo is taken from below the waist which makes the shoulders and head look thicker. Looking forward to more shots but I'm impressed.
Looks like a retool of Metroplex.
That February release date seems really close... I thought Titan Wars wasn't going to kick off until later in 2016...
I'm gonna be waiting for more details.
And with people saying its a retool of Metroplex, again I'm gonna be waiting to see the actual product.
It could be fake, it could be real. I mean that leaked picture of Blaster was proven to be real, so who says this isn't?
And it most likely will have a city mode, because well if Metroplex has one, why shouldn't Fortress Maximus have one?
And while I'm at it
"This needs a Robots In Disguise Redeco"
"Where are the Decepticon City Bots we need those"
"I bet its gonna cost $500"
If legit, he's very beefy in robot mode, something that might have been worrying, considering he came from Metroplex. I don't mind the city mode. The flats bits are nice.
I'm wondering if it's some sort of exclusive. It does say exclusive on there twice.
I'm guessing they will issue a standard version and an exclusive version. Might even follow along the lines of what they did with metroplex and have a tonne of variants released.
I get the feeling they sometimes think "oh hey let's paint the arms a lighter shade, slap the exclusive tag on it, and charge and extra 50. Collectors will still buy it!"
I don't see how this Fort Max is at all a redeco/retool of Metroplex. As far as I can tell, it appears to be an entirely new mould.

Yes, it is very bulky and blocky, as it should be! Fortress Maximus has always been one chunky son-of-a-gun.

And I suspect that he still has a battleship mode, it's just not shown here. Let's face it, the difference between Fort Max's city and battleship modes isn't all that great. Much like the difference between Metroplex's city and mobile fortress modes which are just variants of the base alt mode. These city-formers aren't exactly proper Triple Changers by any stretch of the imagination (there are Legends Class figures with more complex transformations). :p

The lower arms look almost identical to Metroplex.
Looks good but I think that the photo was resized without constraining the proportions. If he is that chunky I may have to buy my 1st titan class tf
Aaaaah, now I see it. :D It's still a pretty significant retool of Metroplex, and I suppose retooling the Metroplex mould helps Hasbro to save money, and also make more money back on what they spent to develop Metroplex in the first place (since he's yet to have a mass-retail redeco).
If you want to see what the dimensions may be, stretched to look like the line art, I saw this on twitter:

Definitely looks like a retool of Metroplex, and it seems his legs are bent a little too in that pic, looks like his upper legs are at a slightly forward angle
The unstretched version looks much better. Better then Metroplex, IMO
I don't think it's a retool in the sense of how it used to be used (same figure, couple of different parts eg: Generations Arcee & Legends Nightbird), but rather is more like the example of Prime Arcee and Generations Chromia - an almost new figure, with shared engineering and some shared pieces.
This can be seen in the way that Metro and Maximus shared the same forearms/fists, but for the rest of the body (shoulders, chest, waist, legs, etc) it looks like new pieces were made, BUT some of the engineering principles were maintained. This is most apparent in the legs, which look new, but appear to transform similarly to Metroplex's.
The question remains... Is Fortress Maximus going to take back the title of largest Transformer from Metroplex? :p
His knees seem to be bent
It also depends how you measure "largest". Metroplex is certainly the tallest Transformer ever produced, but Fortress Maximus beats him in the weight department quite significantly. On the other hand that's far from a fair comparison: as a modern toy, Metroplex has significantly improved engineering which allows him to have the same sort of strength and sturdiness without the need for the sheer amount of plastic. On the third hand (shut up I have three hands) some fans do seem to value the actual amount of plastic they get per toy quite highly, so taking that into account Fortress Maximus still gets the title.
I say who cares, they're about the same.
I reckon there might be a voyager sized one as well. Maybe, Didnt the scan lines image have tank looking treads on it? From this preliminary, unconfirmed image...:p They appear to be missing.
On another forum I saw speculation that this is a limited first release exclusive "G1" version, more g1 by not having the tank treads. The wording, that it comes with an "exclusive sword and Titan master figure" and "Premium G1 deco and labels", and the limited quantities would support that theory.
It wasn't a voyager price, but it was more expensive than the other deluxes. He was shoved into a voyager sized box though, which kind of makes sense since he was meant to be a voyager height robot. Comparing him to current deluxe trends, he is a fair bit larger.

From a marketting POV, if he isn't taller than Metro, they could always go with
The Heaviest Generations toy ever!
Labelling it as the "biggest" would still be accurate if Fort Max is heavier or bulkier, which it looks to be, going by that small image (even when stretched out).
If it is recycling Metroplex parts, it is probably just the legs and arms... the abdomen part between the waist joint and arms looks significantly different to Metroplex and a lot bulkier, which could make it weigh more if it doesn't stand taller.
(but I would assume for marketing purposes to retailers and on the box to consumers, they will do something with it to make it record-breaking in some way, otherwise it will just be "another" big expensive plastic robot to retailers who don't care about names and characters)
The biggest Headmaster ever?
The biggest Titan Master ever?
Has the biggest sword ever?
