Time to pick up Ramjet.
Link broken - Here's the correct link
Takara Tomy Mall limited edition release
Hopefully, there's a Hasbro release.
Think the contrast between black and grey looks pretty bad in jet mode. It's enough that it looks like another character to me altogether.
TTM is becoming like TRU. Everything exclusive with an insane price tag. :(
And after the QC mess of Ramjet, I'm a little hesitant to fork out for this one - even though Thrust is my favourite out of the coneheads. It's becoming that QC issues are the rule rather than the exception these days, and it's getting old quickly...
But even saying all that, he does look pretty good in the pictures.
TT gotta milk those easily beguiled fans
Totally agree with you as i'm pretty sure there was no black on him in the cartoon from memory it was just a slightly darker shade of grey than on the wings?
Maybe a more cartoon accurate + line later down the track cause they havent quite hit their profit quota for this mould yet:)
Still looks very nice, my only gripe is that i was hoping Dirge would be next:D
is that jetmode a GI Joe crossover ?
hmm. I dunno. I want it because I want most of the Masterpiece line but my Ramjet experience is making me wary of getting any other jets....
Not just for QC and general fiddlyness, but value as well. Having just opened and transformed my MP Ratchet and seeing the new thread about MP Inferno and what they come with makes this one harder to justify. People already complaining about the face, why not do swappable ones like other recent figures
The knee colouring is in the movie at least:

However the black or dark grey colouring is debatable. I think the G1 toy is black, but animation is dark grey. But remember that black is often reprsented as dark grey in animation in order to show details and shadow.
Regardless whether it is black or dark grey (I'm not fussed with either actually) it needs to be uniform throughout, and not the mix-match we're seeing in the pics. As others have pointed out, it looks wrong.
Looks like he goes live on TTMall on the 11th June with an October release date.

Man, I hope the grey on his wings is darker in hand, it looks pretty shocking at the moment.
Ergh, I guess that answers that question. The box art says it all. His face looks how I feel about that black / grey.
He neither matches the g1 toy or the anime versions.
TFW user Shiro1 has done a 'toon and toy comparison:

The grey is way too light! But then again, Ramjet's face looked too light in the official pics but in-hand was about right, so hopefully this is the same... hopefully...
No brainer...... It Will be bought.:) just hope they give it a stand this time???
Think they could have done better with the box art. But the figure looks nice. Instant preorder. Most likely will pick up through PC but if it sells out quick I've still got an account with TTM as a fallback.
Geez it took me forever to justify the cost of buying Ramjet, now I have to go through the same angst about Thrust.
They need to make these more available and cheaper
Thrust was the second Decepticon jet I got as a child so I am tempted a bit.
They really seem to be going for the flat cartoon colours on MP's these days.
Yeah, it's a pity that they fell short on something so simple as colour choice, because the figure does look awesome!
Hopefully the QC is up to snuff though... and hopefully they darken the plastic by the time the production model is out -- they darkened Hot Rod's windshield so it is possible...
No stand again, according to the TTMall listing, the contents consists of:
Quote:
Thrust body (1), hologram pilot (1), missiles (2), character card (1), instruction manual (1)

I dunno... there's something a little off about him... looks a bit "stumpy" haha. Can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, still gonna get it - otherwise Ramjet will get lonely ;)
Hhmmmm.... I wonder if PC will release this, as their Ramjet preorder price proved to be $25 cheaper than getting it from Japan before shipping.
Also, see my comment here regarding the possible justification for these higher prices. The numbering of this toy also lends credence to the theory that MP-11NR stood for "Masterpiece 11 New-Jetron Ramjet," so it seems that MP-11NT might be "New-Jetron Thrust."
So sell 10000 toys instead of 2000?
Ive never understood limited exclusives. Its the same with nike and adidas shoes. If you were a minor player in the industry, i can see limited releases driving up interest. But when the interest already exists, all youre doing by selling a small number of an item is causing frustration in the collector community
As long as I manage to score this via PC this is so bought!
2000 piece limit?
/sigh. These toys sell damn well. Why unnecessarily create a scalpers market and make it difficult people who just want a piece of Transformers nostalgia.
