Err yea. Ok then.
I was expecting something better:(
That doth looketh disappointing.
Well.. that's interesting...
The combined 'jet' mode is a bit disappointing, but the Energon Omega-type combined robot is pretty original.
did he ever appeared in the last 2 Animated Seasons?
can't remember
not picking that up.
:eek:That's horrendous:eek:.
it looks bleh, but sadly I'll be buying that crap :(
Not what I expected, but still quite... "interesting". Since I'm now collecting all Animated characters, will get him anyway. Who knows... the characters can end up being very interesting and likeable in Season 3.
Oh yea no doubt about that, I'll most likely love the characters, but I'm just not buying any of the toys.
I hope the jets are mistransformed or something, because they look really, really bad.
Oh, and apparently the combined mode is named Safeguard.
Maybe someone can help me out here since I don't watch animated, but to be honest I really don't see what they are meant to be at all. Their individual alternate modes look like they are trying to be some type of jets but to me it looks like the head of a jet stuck on some legs.
And then the combined alternate form, well, I can rest any two transformers on top of each other.
I do understand that I haven't seen the series, but I have just been pretty impressed with the styalised look of the toys anyway (thus I bought Magnus) and this to me (coming from an outside perspective) looks like their engineering team has gone back to before G1.
Looks a bit meh. The combined mode is interesting, I just hope there are some hands hidden in the feet turned arms. No point to the vehicle combined mode. Waste of time there. The robot modes don't look to bad though. I kind of like them. Just wish they had like wings or something instead of just a V shaped hull
I can't believe Hasbro gave this the "ok"...
Nope, he/they are meant to be season 3 characters.
At least we now know they are part of the Autobot elite guard. They are going to have to be some stellar characters for me to pick them up (unless later pics show these ones to be mistransformed), the alt mode is lazy, the combined Jet mode even worse, and while the combined robot mode seems interesting (like the Energon omega style merge) it still does not look all that great, especially with the lack of hands.
At least the colours are really nice, and somewhat different.
So we are back to 1988 Pretender inner bot engineering?
Boy this is a very progressive line!
Is he suppose to be a homage to G1 or Armadaverse, if Armadaverse i am not surprise its looks weird...
My kingdom for some wings. Combined robot is intriguing. The cone of the jets actually is the first time I've seen a Jetfire resemble its cartoon Skyfire likeness (inverted air intake), but with no wings, it's sort of all wasted. Two unique heads is cool.
I suspect it was miss transformed, the combiner should have fists, turn over his "feet" maybe.
I really don't like it, first animated I don't like. :(
Erm... wow. I didn't expect it to be like this. Even if the robot mode is mistransformed it's still quite regressive in design. The combined robot mode is not too bad but those arms are clearly legs. The jet mode is alright but I don't even want to get into the combined jet mode. Pegging two jets together is NOT a combination.
I admire them for trying, but we are really just getting one single robot twice with a combine feature that was engineered once and duplicated. Very poor for the animated standards.

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! (>o<)
I thought it was a Power Rangers toy.
Judging from the head,http://www.tfu.info/2001/Autobot/RailRacer/facepic.jpg I think it is a homage to RID... three trains combiner, whatever the name is.
JRX (Japan Rail eXpress) - known as Rail Racer RiD.

You know, I wouldn't have minded if they had gone-all-Superlink with Jetfire/Jetstorm (It'd be a nice throwback to Energon :)) but for 2008/2009 standards, this combined mode just_seems_so_lame...
i hope they get better looking earth modes or something. their names and head designs are too cool to be wasted
I like the innovation of the combined robot mode, although TBH similar concepts have been done before (the Multiforce did it 20 years ago, with better vehicle modes).
Fugly. Utter excrement.
Crap colour scheme, crap combination, crap combined mode. Hell, the worse superlinks in Energon were better than this pile of puke.
I'm wondering about their size? Do we know what that is. The preorder price is a bit high. I'm guessing the two figures are probably going to be sold in a Voyager box. If these two figures came as a single deluxe that would be some good value.
Looks like 2 x deluxe to me
That looks terrible.
