so very tempting
Long due, wonder if it's a big release or just small allocation.
So far Kapow Toys, BBTS and PC are indicating they're going to offer it, so hopefully it's a large release -- although it's a bit weird how TransformersAsia is stating it's a Taiwan release rather than Asia-wide.
Well that seems about right... I finally cave a few months ago, and now they decide to reissue it. :o
Im actually just after that mini diecast player that would go well with Blaster from Tracks.
Im not really sure how TF Asia chooses its release (like MPSW to China only) but it would definitely circulate around asia and to all of us anyway.
Still regret skipping this the first time round. Definitely interested..if the price is right.
Even with the yellow visor, Hasbro Soundwave is appealing to those who missed out on TT Soundwave and also don't want to pay the exorbitant prices for the extra cassettes.
Although prices have improved for MP-15, back in the day I ended up turning to the dark side for MP-15, my first and only time.
We are only speculate that they aimed at g1toy accurate which is proven to be false lately by looking at their mp bumble bee. I think it was just smacked in to differentiate from Takara.
No it doesn't bug me but I think it's still bad choice. Should have a change colour thingy like grimlock and everyone will be happy. :)
Easy pass for me but great news for anyone who might've missed out on the previous releases of these toys.
As 1AZRAEL1 mentioned before, the yellow visor is toy-accurate, and the toy came first so it's actually more G1 accurate than the red visor. Soundwave also had a yellow visor in all other media other than the cartoon - comics, Ladybird Books, Big Looker Books etc. :)
Fantastic news for anyone that missed out first time around, he's a great figure and easily worth $200
PC have indicated that preorders will open either Thursday or Friday this week.
You would think it would have to be well over $200, I mean you pay $200 just for a jet now. And remember when they did a reissue of jetwing optimas. That was ridiculous expensive.
Still waiting for some sort of version of MP Ratbat that doesn't involve needing to buy Soundblaster...
Great news
Might consider picking up a second one, depending on how much they're charging now.
Back in the day even at the full RRP of $150, for a set like this with all the cassettes was just insane value. To this day I still consider it be one of the best Transformers bargains of all time.:D
I did not realise panels in his feet opened for Frenzy/Rumble weapon storage. Not until I saw this pic.
If anyone isn't keen on the bonus die cast Soundwave cassette player, please send me a PM. Cheers!
I could tell you that the Hasbro and Takara have a completely different color scheme on MP-16 - (Frenzy Or Rumble, the blue/purple one)
Frenzy (Hasbro never bothered to switch the names, which I think they should've). And the difference is subtle*. The Hasbro version has a slightly brighter shade of blue/purple and the detailing on the chest is silver paint instead of chrome. Otherwise they're really quite similar.

*Year of the Sheep variant not withstanding
If I am a real picky on this one, the TT one looks better but for what they cost, the combo set would be my pick, you can buy red eyes and have soundwave looking like proper G1 not G1 toy.
From pics provided by goki , you can see TT version looks sharper in contrast even with darker shade.
PC preorders set for tonight at 8.30pm.
BBTS preorders up -- US$160.
Up for pre order tonight on PC at the usual 8:30pm.
Just maybe..
Sounds like a good deal for people who don't have these toys.
But it bugs me that Hasbro/Takara can release this for a decent price, yet every seeker seems to cost a fortune.
