Is that price good or if sourced elsewhere would they be cheaper?
Thanks
Ditto! :D
For those who may not have noticed, [urlhttps://www.toybotimportz.com.au/products/takara-tomy-mall-exclusive-lg-ex-big-powered]LG EX Big Powered is available for preorder at Toybot Importz[/url]. Also at Takara Tomy Mall for those of you living in Japan. :) But for the rest of us, TBI's price is actually about the same as TTM only with domestic cost of shipping! :D
Thanks for the heads up on minibots. No idea who I bought from, but if they actually have the stock, got to be the cheapest way to grab a set
Word is definitely out. Only Swerve left at Cotton On this morning
Happy to help out
I must admit that I rather impulsively jumped on all of these. :D Now to think about where I'm going to display them as I'm going to keep them sealed (I already have all the original G1 and Takara reissue versions of these figures). <rubs.chin> :)
P.S.: They look to be completely sold out now! :o
I ordered 2x Bumblebee. Will likely keep on MOC and have the other as a desk toy at work.
Otherwise, will open both and display in both modes.
Never had an original G1 Bee, never bought a proper reissue, and had the 90s chrome G2 version.
Happy with this. Missed out on free shipping but signed up for the $10 coupon which I used.
Wow, I missed that boat, they aren't even listed any more (Cotton On) I wonder if they'll have any turn up in store?
Just out of curiosity how much were they?
I emailed them this afternoon. They were only online.

That's so random by Cotton On. Wonder if they will be doing the other G1 re-releases given how fast these sold out.
Received my 2 Bumblebees today. Very quick dispatch (ordered Thursday night dispatched Friday from their Victorian DC) and came in well packed. 15 bucks a pop with free shipping that's a pretty sweet deal.

But, one of them has a really badly painted head. I haven't bought any G1 reissues since probably the Takara TF Collection days so am not sure about the quality of recent reissues. But I've never seen a mainline Transformer toy with this obvious of a visual flaw in store or from online. Or have I just been lucky?
They've started on the low value ones so hopefully they'd stock more? I'd say it's probably a one-off thing. One of the buyers is probably a TF fan.
They also had the G1 My Little Pony re-releases, so it might have something to do with the licenses they have for clothing.
I just got screwed over by Cotton on.
I just bought two sets of G1 Walmart minibots from them, only to find they have NO tech specs whatsoever and are the foreign edition. So I am now going to have to source a new set for mosc. Knew the price was too good to be true. It has a Hasbro rrp sticker of Aus 14.99, 16.99 nz, which means that the set we will get at retail is probably no tech spec too :(
Turn your cards over peeps and prepare to be majorly disappointed
For opening the set is fine (But you don't get a card to keep), but really bummed
To be fair to Cotton On Kids, they aren't the usual perveyors of TF toys & not intentionally going out to screw TF collectors. These are legit (as you've mentioned), just not the American version you were expecting.
As bummed as you are, you'll be able to flip these no sweat.
Yeah these would be for the international market and I guess because they need to have multi-language texts jammed on the card there's not enough room for the tech specs. I can see why that'd be disappointing for MOSC collectors though..
Can someone please kindly post up a pic of the back facing of the backing card. Thanks.
It appears the U.S. variant is bi-lingual with English & French(?) (for Canada) whereas the International has 4 languages.
Thanks doublespy.
The G1 'purist' won't be happy with these minibot reissues. The backing card text has been modified. The toys are essentially Encore reissues with notable exception of Bumblebee, previously stated by Goki-san in another thread somewhere.
While I understand how the international packaging variation would be disappointing for some people, I also think it's unfair to accuse Cotton On Kids of deliberately trying to screw fans over by sourcing this stock. I highly doubt that their retail buyer contacted Hasbro and explicitly asked for European stock over American stock for this express purpose. I highly doubt that the retail buyer woke up one morning and as s/he was brushing his/her teeth thought to him/herself, "Ya know what? I think I'll call Hasbro and order the G1 reissue Mini bots... but I'll be sure to ask them to source me the European versions without the tech spec bios instead of the American ones. Yeah, that's totally what I'm gonna do when I get to work today!" :p
When Beast Wars first came out in Australia you guys also got similar European packaging that skimped out on tech spec bios (not me, I was living in Japan at the time :p). Again, I doubt that this was done to deliberately bugger fans over. It's more than likely due to where Hasbro Australia gets their stock from which they then distribute to local stores here. Being made as Wal★Mart exclusives in the US, maybe it was easier for Hasbro AU to source stock from Europe.
It should also be mentioned that at the Play World convention 2 weeks ago, both Tha Phantom and I mentioned to a Hasbro rep that it would be really good if they could get the 2018 G1 reissues released here. I don't know if this stock was ordered before the con or after, but either way I'm just glad to see reissues being released here and also at a pretty good price. Remember when TRU were releasing inferior Hasbro G1 reissues here at high prices? And by inferior I don't mean the packaging, I mean things like oversized missiles, lack of chrome etc., and by high prices I mean that they initially sold for nearly the cost of buying a Takara reissue from a local specialty import store (sometimes the import was cheaper).
If it really bugs you that much, get the North American versions. If you've already bought the European versions from Cotton On Kids then I'm pretty sure that you'll have no problem selling them considering how quickly they sold out.
For those who missed out (like me) these seem to have returned to the CottonOn website. Just put in an order for all four.
If you're a G1 purist you wouldn't like these. These toys have the changes introduced in the Encore version - the blue eyes on Swerve, Tailgate and Outback - and the cartoon face on Bumblebee that originaly came from the Transformers Collection version.
The US/Canada card back looks like this for comparison.
Not a fan personally, not quite the accurate G1 reproduction I'd want. Close but just a bit "wrong" for me.

I only bought them cos they were a reasonable price. I couldn’t care less about the cardboard as I’m ripping them open anyway. Apart from a crappy Platinum G1 Predaking, these are the first ‘G1’ bots I’ve bought since the 80’s. Will probably regret it as soon as I see them.:)
