The official TakaraTomy Twitter has posted a silhouette teaser for their next Gen Selects project. Almost certain it's Abominus, most likely a cartoon accurate version like Volcanicus.

Who's that Pokemon?!
Abominus is a bloody fun set. If the price for it is in any way realistic (sub say... $180?) I might consider it.
Do I want to replace my Abominus set???
What can they really add...
A rifle and a chest plate...?
Im certain this was shown through Volcanicus'ssssss comic
Cartoon accurate colour scheme IIRC was the only change.
Cancel that, it was the Takara Legends comics

And I'm guessing this is how TT will pad out their range. Cartoon accurate CW boxsets
How cartoon accurate can the Terrorcons get though? I think I slept through most of Headmasters, but they didn't have much in the way of appearances in G1.
Could we consider the POTP ones to be toy accurate?
Personally the Terrorcons are my favourite team, so I'm interested. I hope they add some cool accessories. Juts Hungrrs gun ain't gonna cut it. (and hope its less than 22000 yennies)
And it's revealed.

Not quite the purple overhaul I expected, the pink is only a little darker than the POTP version. The other Terrorcons are basically the same. Good for those that want the cartoon accurate Abominus head/torso though.
TTmall exclusive, drops in March next year, 22000 yennies

Not too sure whether I'll bite. Changes look minor and a new shield and guns? Hm. Different feet and hands though.
Comic is cool and has a base mode for Hungrrrrr
It's a very nice colour pallette, and in line with what Takara was doing for the Unite Warriors releases before the great unification. The big changes are in Hung-Gurr and the additional weapons/parts but the deluxes all have a more bold colour template, with the combiner columns being largely recoloured to better match the show, and generally be a bit more individually distinctive (rather than a collection of colours).
I'm good with my current set, but could be swayed for the right price (although the Selects Volcanicus price would probably be too much to convince me)
Those feet are arse.
Give the combiners Computron's feet at least.
Apparently the Centurion Drone preorder is dropping same day as Abominus. At least that's what Google Translate makes it out to be. Could be completely wrong.

Keen on that new Abominus! I was always disappointed that the brand unification started in POTP, so we ended up with two options for Computron but only one for Abominus. Since I have Takara Computron this should compliment it nicely.
I'll get him if he's the same price as the Dinobots at Asian retailers.

The emerging energy stuff they needed to find during Japanese beast wars
If you want to know more, https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Angolmois_Energy
Essentially Unicron's dispersed energy. A corrupting influence, but an energy able to bestow life on machines.
After reading through the wiki, it would seem this manga might be the first one to acknowledge angolmoa in Japanese. It calls it both Angolmoa and Angolmois energy I don't know why they insist on adding energy after it everytime. Is there angolmoa lollies they can eat?
Welp there's a big gaping hole in knowledge of TF lore.
At some point I do want to watch Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo. There are fan subs out there, just never been a priority.
I didn't know much about it either until recently, when it popped up on something about a year ago (probably on one of these new TT comics), and I had to read up on it on tfwiki... but it just felt more like a weird mcguffin plot device that didn't need remembering.
The name is weird too... I'm hoping it is derived from something in one of the human languages (english, latin, etc)... as it is really difficult to pronounce if it was just a made up word.
The notes on TFwiki say it stems from Nostradamus.
Just doing some googling of the name as is and it seems to have been used in some games and anime as well Most of the results are Japanese pages. Looking at the Nostradamus page on Wikipedia, a quick control F doesn't find anything.
So it must have sounded cool, kind of conspiratorial and mystical to Japanese people and it caught on from that.
Still, it's awkward, long and doesn't sound all that cool to me.
It's hard enough keeping over 35 years of Hasbro TF lore straight. Adding Takara lore into the mix is beyond most people. Both because of the language barrier and the fact it's an additional 35 years of lore on top of Hasbro's 35 years.
Personally, I can barely keep G1 cartoon canon straight in my head so I don't even try.
It was in the second series of IDW's Beast Wars comic... I had to look it up at the time too.
35 years of stuff from different people with different ideas, sometimes not knowing what the others have planned makes it hard to coordinate.
Takaratomy released a vol 2 of Abominus a day or two ago. Japanese version is :
https://takaratomymall.jp/img/goods/...ics_second.pdf
I'm working on it now, so if you are wondering, please stand by ;)
TakaraTomy have tweeted out a number of comparison images of their new release Terrorcons next to the original release of the POTP Terrorcons, to show the various differences between them.
Looking forward to this.
There are design elements from the boxset that I prefer over POTP and vice versa but overall I think they're both kinda equal. Do I see correctly that the boxset is missing the pair of 'fists' for Cutthroat and Sinnertwin because they are technically not required?
There are four Seacon style hands included. Like the new Volcanicus, they use a weapon as the heel to extend two of them into feet.
Oh yea, you're right. That's one way to do it. Still, seems like Takara really wanted to get as much out of the Terrorcon molds as they could.
Wew, done in a week. NOICE. Abominus vol2 is done

Just in time for Takaratomy to close the preorder window in Japan, but he's still up on Pulse. And erm, hopefully somewhere local for Aussies. Man, I am getting out of touch....
