We were soooo close to getting an Arcee that;
a) didn't look transgender
or
b) didn't have a head like a smashed crab.
You cut us deep hasbro, you cut us deep. :(

Is anyone suprised by this?
All I hope is that Hasbro finishes the line after the movie
I'm surprised... especially considering that Hasbro allowed ToyFare magazine to publish an image of Animated Arcee in their July issue. Extremely disappointed too... that toy would've been the closest thing we'd have to a G1-accurate Arcee toy. (T_T)
Shame on you Hasbro.
I'm hoping that it is only cancelled at the store because the Animated line is going on a movie line induced holiday from the shelves, and when the movie hype is over, but the movie stock is still flooding shelves, that Arcee will be made available again.
The emails have been saying "for the time being". Seems like a pretty big distinction between that and cancelled forever and ever.
No point getting our knickies in a knot until they're officially cancelled. As we all know the movie line is going to be around for quite a while before we see much of anything else, so let's just see how it all pans out. Having said that, If the new Animated toys are cancelled it will certainly be time for tears. :(
I have faith that Arcee will be released.
If they got to the tooling stage, then they'll be released somewhere, somehow, most likely in a post ROTF Universe sideline.
Gok asked at the Eric meet last year why Hasbro went in such a wildly different direction from the movie line for the post-movie TF line, considering other franchises such as Batman based post-movie series on the visual style on their very successful movies. Animated was developed sometime before the 2007 movie was released. Essentially, Hasbro created a series with a totally different visual style to the movie on the off-chance that the movie would not do very well - there was no cast-iron guarantee the movie would have been the success it is now. Hasbro was just covering all possibilities.
Since the movie was such a huge success and Animated apparently did not perform to expectations, it makes the most logical and business sense now to do a new television series and Transformers main line based upon the movie, since that's what most people will associate "Transformers" with.
It hurts, but Hasbro has masters to answer to: its shareholders and the retailers.
This news really sucks! :(
If it doesn't go to retail, I wonder if they could release it as an online exclusive or something (like Mattel does on their website)
I will cry myself to sleep for days. =( I too have faith that after the movie rush the few exlusive animated figs will be released.
I also think that the mold will surface in one form or another even if not under the Animated banner or general release.
I can see Hasbro releasing a few animated figures under the "Universe" or "Classics" label in the future. Maybe Arcee, Hot Rod and Cybertron Ratchet will appear then. Hopefully.
We haven't even gotten Team Charr yet...or Team Rodimus...or even Femscream...
Please let this be one of those times where the good don't die young.
Perhaps they'll show Animated in Japan and Takara will pick up the slack? Please?!

I think this accurately sums up my thoughts on this matter.
Told Ya so.... Hasbro ..... Arcee.... Just dont mix ;).... Why am I NOT surprised??:rolleyes:..
We've seen pics of the toy mold already. It may be hasbro, henkei, or another legitimate future toy company. But it's just gonna be a matter of time... Like it's inevitable!
All we need now isa certain Chinese toy company making the mold to let "slip" a mold and for certain KOers to "release" a certain pink robot, that a certain company deems innapropriate/persistently refuses to release (ehrm PROPERLY)... evaaaah. JUst for spite.:mad:
We'll get an Arcee eventually. Just be patient. Personally I didn't really like the Animated Arcee anyway, but that's not saying much since I didn't like the franchise... ;)
Perhaps HasTak will give us a proper G1 Arcee in Universe or Henkei then we'll just totally forget about the Animated toy altogether. :)
We've had Arcees - Energon, BotCon, Binaltech etc. - we were just looking forward to this one. And waiting twenty-three years for a vaguely-feminine Arcee toy that turns into a car doesn't count as patient?
I'm not convinced that this is the final death-knell for the Animated toy just yet, though.
Just happy a Leader Size Earth mode Optimus Prime will be released , now the Autobot crew are in character scale :)
A leader Earth Prime? Do you mean Wingblade Prime? I thought he was voyager.
IN all likeliness, if they have gone so far as to have a coloured prototype deone (they have coz we seen the pics) then they will probably make it sometime, afterall, they went to the effort of designing it, it would be a waste of time and money for them not too.
Chill people. Lets wait until after the movie hoohah has died down and see what they come up with next.
i've seen other animated toys for sale on ebay and people gave written reviews on other sites so surely they'll finish the line after the movie.
i hope so. i hated the line when it was first released but just recently realised how good it was and started buying up. now with no new realeses on the shelves i'm going a bit stir crazy.
