G2 rocks.
One of my favourite moments in G2 was when Megatron and Prime were forced to team up against Matrix-powered Starscream. Megatron questioned himself as to why the hell he always lets Starscream back when he's proven himself time and time again to be a self-serving traitor, and Megatron's answer to himself was something like, "Because I'm an idiot, that's why!" :D
Other things I liked:
+ G.I. Joe's intergalactic beacon which allowed them to summon the Autobots back to Earth when the Decepticons attacked.
+ War World!!!
+ Dr. Biggles-Jones, she's smart and she's hawt! ;)
+ Jhiaxus; very cool villain =D
+ War World!!! (just deserves a 2nd mention :p)
+ The freakin' SWARM! (who would go on to influence the Beast Wars in a major way ;))
+ Sideswipe - his G2 repaint didn't suck (sorry iceburn, I'm just not a big fan of blue Grimlock :p) and they made him a bada$$ Rambo-esque commando! :D
+ The Liege Maximo! Okay, he didn't really do much other than just sit there looking really menacing and bad - but that was cool. And subsequent Beast Wars canon has further illustrated that he _was_ actually as bad as he looked, having torn the Matrix from Primon with his bare hands! Nassssty.
+ And did I mention War World? :p

You know what I like best about G2?
The incredibly bad rapping in the commercials.

It's also interesting how G2 was the source for many features later made standard by Beast Wars, foremost of them being articulation as an integral part of the robot mode, and being complex in addition to that.

To be honest, I never knew about G2 at all at the time. I'm pretty sure that 2007 was the first time I looked at Transformers in Australian toy shops. Only the actual dinobot element was nostalgia for me... the colours just broke it up a bit.Quote:

I love the G2 comics, they are probably my favourte TF comics to date. There just so dark and foreboding compared to most TF comics. And the art while wierd reminds me of some of the odd styles that were popular in the 90's.
On the toy front I dunno, I guess Darkwing and Sideswipe were kinda cool. I always wanted a Laser Prime to, but missed out as I wasn't overly interested in TFs at that time.
I have Black Convoy now, who I prefer.
And I don't see why Blast Off is drawing critisim when the rest of the G2 Combaticons had camo schemes that would only have been of use in drug induced halucinations from the 60's. :D

Late G2 was what gave us _articulated_ robot modes in Transformers, including the introduction of ball-and-socket joints.

G2 Sideswipe basically has a "reversed" colour scheme from G1 Sideswipe, i.e.: what was red is black and what was black is red. Although the red is brighter than G1 Sideswipe, I agree that it is a really nice repaint and my favourite of all the repainted G1 moulds in G2. :)
He looked really cool in G2 fiction too, especially the way that they decked him out with all his "commando" accessories like bandoliers, spiked tyres etc. They should make a G2 Universe/Henkei Sideswipe as a limited exclusive.
IMO Laser Prime was the best Optimus Prime mould ever made until 2007's Leader Class movie Prime. And even then, judging Laser Prime in context of 1995 I'd say that toy is easily on par with movie and ROTF Leader Primes for the relative standards of 1995, 2007 and 2009.Quote:

P.S.: I was reading through some old Shortpacked comics, and one talked about a character "feeling old" because he was in high school when Beast Wars was out. Damnit, I was in uni then! :eek:
