Custom number three. This was my first time using apoxie sculpt and I have to say this stuff is fantastic. Easy to carve and file plus it holds edges really well and doesn't chip like other putties.

Parts painted in Lamborghini Arancio Borealis or a golden metallic orange.
Screen painted in Alclad prismatic green to gold.

Based on the Jazz Gamblor brought the the fair - the pictures of his paint jobs don't do it justice. It looks really good and professionally finished.
Thanks mate. I haven't tried the Mr Hobby or Tamiya stuff other than the old discontinued one step polish. I've heard that the new Tamiya Finish compound is good but pricey. I do like the Finishers stuff though. I've used it for this.
The alcohol is ordinary 99% isopropyl I found at a hardware store.

btw, i've tried 99% isopropyl before and the only thing i found it useful was for cleaning my paint brushes and cleaning off grime...
had absolutely no luck with TF paint removal....
do i have to soak it in for 24hrs for it to really have any effect??
the quickest results i've ever had was non acetone nail polish remover, but it caused some plastics to go really cloudy....

What are you trying to remove? I've had good results with IPA but sometimes several applications are required (don't do it with clear bits though). Find a sealable container, add the parts and cover with the IPA. I check progress by scratching it off with a fingernail but I pretty much forget about it until the next day or two.

Just occurred to me that both Deep Cover and Le Tigre have their spoilers removed! Wow - you're making them smooth-ended, aren't ye!? :D (just so happens I just did that for an STL custom... :O )
Not quite, I used Henkeis so I wanted to preserve the chrome without masking (though that gives me an idea for another build hmm...)

Rough up the plastic with sandpaper and smooth on apoxie sculpt. Tubes are there to preserve screw holes.

Nice tute, but why do you have to "pin" the parts with guitar wire?
For extra strength on fragile bits like the black intake piece.
