WIP Custom G1 Black Zarak

Ok well a while ago I bought I G1 Scorponok from the UK the seller stated it was mint and when I recieved him it was far from mint! There was a broken tab on his leg here

And since its pritty much a Junker I thought I would turn him into Black Zarak

I have all ready completed the gun

I have sent the Chest Piece and the chrome towers to the US to the guy who does all the chrome transformers on TFW2005 to get gold chromed just like the original. And am talking to some people who own the real thing about getting the head and staff molded

He’s going to take a while the find everything but he will get there in the end

wow dude... so far it looks very promising.....
i have to check for sure when i get home later but that gold gun cover looks pretty much spot on with the real one....

This is a really handy thing to know that if my BZ ever gets fuct up from GPS, then i can use your work as reference for repair!!!

Btw, are you planning on cast mould the broken the leg part or apply some styrene/putty magic?

also, are you gonna add "articulation" or stick to exact G1 likeness??

What's this gold chroming you speak of? It sounds intriguing.

The part that broke off i later found in the box he was shipped in so will just super glue together

Also if you want to donate your Black Zarak head and staff to me, that would be great :p

Interesting, it sounds like vacuum plating as done to original parts.

chroming doesnt sound cheap at all...
but it certainly beats finding a non-broken BZ...

NIce! Cant wait to see you complete this and with the chrome stuff and all. Id ask re: the head mold and spear if you do get it molded, for how much? erm spray paint? did you have to take the piece off....

YES the guy on TFW2005 is willing to send his BZ head and staff off to Darkov to get them casted :D now it will be a perfect replica! will also order repolabels for him

oooh that means The head and staff will be available from Darkov then , yesssss! now to find a spare transtector scorponok body :D:D

Looking good there. Finding Scorponoks with missing accessories is pretty easy, so could be a good cheap kitbash, depending on the cost of the chroming.

Moldeing, i got Trailbreakers head molded for my classic Runamuck and Runabout 3 of them cost me $15 US so it not to bad.
And yea took all the pieces apart to paint, then reassemble the whole thing

Hes only charging me $25 to paint it chrome and about $5-$10 to post it back. But yea beats paying $1,000+ to get a real one and tranform him 1 and have the gold brake and shatter

that leg looks really nice work cant wait to see the finished product :)

But while painting Zarak he became victum of Golden Plastic Syndrome and his arm broke off (note: i may have bought the zarak allready with missing arm but this story make him sound more real to me)

Now just have to wait for the golden chrome parts and the Black Zarak head and trident/staff
Also have to find a complete Fast track and Scorponoks shield thingy

Dude that looks fantastic, a much cheaper option rather than find a real version of him. I would def get one if you did it lol.

Thats a shame hes missing an arm, but once you get the repro BZ helmet, theres no real need for the headmaster anyways.

Some of the paint i allready had from other projects, but yea i bought 4 cans of semi gloss black. Used them and then bought a box of 6, and used all of them. So i cost a fair bit, but so far it's worth it :D

Yea i will probably just put Zarak standing next to the helmet so you can still see him

wow thats a lot of paint there. but still far more cheaper than buying the original. Cant wait to see the head mold and chromed parts put on....

UPDATE The gold chrome came today :D turned out awsome it's just perfect for Black Zarak, here are some pics will try and take better ones in a few days.
Now just have to work out the details with the head and staff and he will be done
Also his repo labels are on there way

i'm so glad you are not on the dark side and flogging this on the 'bay as a legit BZ, cos its a pretty good job so far.
