Dunno if its just the green tinge, but is anyone else getting a huge Springer vibe from it?
The fact that you don't seem to be being sarcastic when you say that about this helicopter-car-robot is the most worrying part of your post. Defender is a modern reimagining of Springer in the same way that City Commander was of Ultra Magnus. FansProject can't legally name the toy Springer, so they use his function (which was Aerial Defense) as a name as they're doing with the others (City Commander, Protector, etc.) So yes, it's completely an intellectual property rip off of Springer.
Wow the BBTS preorder price for this is quite reasonable methinks. Thought it'd be a lot higher.
