There were about a hundred Hasbro/Kenner Beast Wars toys.

wow, that's alot more than i was expecting ...
we're they all released in Australia?
About half of them were. Start at the bottom of this page and move up:

wow, we really never got tigatron or blackarachnia?, i never knew that
Yeah - we missed out on about a year's worth of toys because Hasbro changed the country of their to-Australia distributors. Weirdly at the time, Australian Target used an image of Tigatron in one of its catalogue toy sections (which got me excited, but sadly the toys never appeared. To this day, I don't know how or why Target had a picture of a loose Tigatron toy).
After going through this List (http://www.tfu.info/series/bw.htm) i have counted that i have 19 out of 145 (unless i misscounted)
i used to have alot more but they have all either lost too many parts to count, are completly lost, or are broken
i remember i used to own snapper, rattrap, transmetal rattrap, Dinobot, and a few others but now ratrap is broken, snapper is missing every part except for it's main body, transmetal rattrap is missing it's robot mode legs and half it's beast mode head, and i've completly lost dinobot
(sigh) i guess that's what happens when you give a cool toy to a 5 year old
I was living in Japan when Beast Wars came out, so I didn't notice which toys we missed here. :p Although Japan didn't get some figures like Razorbeast (so I had to hunt them down later), but we did get some cool stuff like Shadow Panther and the Volcano playset. :)
The funny thing was that Australia got the European packaging with the early BW toys, which a lot of people didn't like - primarily because their tech specs sucked... but for me they were kind of a novelty since I was more used to the American and Japanese packaging. The first BW Transformer I bought in Australia was Inferno; and I really liked his European box. But then one day my dad tried to throw it out. I retrieved it from the recycling bin, but then later on when I was out he chucked it out again, and by time I got him it had been collected by the garbage truck! NAAWWWWW!!
Ah well. :p
why dont you like the japs? they have pretty cool modes like horse giraffe bunny
Only in 1996.
Because she's a Beast Machines toy (or was released with BMesque packaging, anyway.) And she is on this list: http://www.otca.com.au/archive1.html
I never said i didnt like the japanese ones, from what i've seen (Lio Convoy, Stampy, Break, Longrack, Big Convoy, Moon, Magmatron) they are quite nice, the reason i asked for only hasbro relases is because i wanted just beast wars (not beast wars II or Neo) because that is the series i grew up with and the toys i wish i had when i was growing up (i also mainly wanted to know which beast wars figures were released in Austrlia and which were not and i knew that Ravage was japan only but still part of beast wars so to keep from getting him (and any other japan only figures) on this list i just asked for hasbro relases not takaraQuote:

oh, i didnt know what series she was from, i just thought she was part of beast wars since she used TM2 Blackarachnia's mold,
so how diferant did the American and Australian packging look?
Firestorm: The European packaging looked like this. The packaging was trilingual, but one thing that irritated a lot of fans was the tech specs... if you can call it that. iirc it just had very basic information like name, weapon location; but nothing like say function or the actual character profile.
Yeah I have one of those, I was also dissapointed when it had nothing but very basic information with no profile.
This was probably due to save space due to the multilingual nature of the European market as they couldn't have the same techspec in three languages taking over the entire back of the card but regardless, it is still dissapointing.
hmm on a scale of 1 to 100 how dificult do you think it would be to collect all of the beast wars figures that appeared in the show now?
and i mean there original versions not the 10th aniversary ones (even though those are really really nice)
i wouldnt think it would be that hard you still see them often enough, i would consider getting the reissue ones as the colours on them look so much better. i was recently going through my beast wars stuff which is all original and am now thinking replacing them with the better coloured versions
yeah the 10th aniversary ones do look better but i wanted to go for that nostalgia feel that the originals have, i already have silverbolt, optimus primal, transmetal optimus primal, optimal optimus, transmetal cheetor and the remnants of quickstrike
should check aus ebay someine is listing quite a few BW, it might be verno
An original Rattrap seems to be the hardest to find, and Transmetal II Megatron seems to be a bit pricey.
Apparently HasTak have lost the mould to the original Rattrap - so it looks like that toy will never be reissued. I would recommend getting Japanese Metals Megatron over Hasbro's Transmetal Megatron -- the Hasbro version notoriously suffers from brittle brown plastic syndrome whereas Takara's version is made from more durable plastic.
