I really like the Devastator upgrades but I can't justify the cost. Altogether the upgrades cost more than a complete vintage Devastator!
These are really cool sets albeit a bit pricey.
Unfortunately I do not have a Devy or Predaking to upgrade however I am open to donations ;)
Maybe I could do an upgrade kit for my 3 inch Predaking and HOC Devy
It's interesting to see that 3rd party projects are really starting to gain some momentum in the TF collecting business.
Man I would've loved to of gotten the Devastator parts and I'd love to get the Predaking kit though I also don't own a Predaking :(, I've got plenty of Predacons just not the ones needed for this. :p
I agree though that they are bloody pricey, I understand they need to pay for things themselves and make a bit of profit but man, why so much? :(
Our luck might change soon my friend *fingers crossed* :D
5FDP, you've just put a rather large Beastly smile on my face mate. :p
Indeed, *Fingers are Crossed*. :D
hmm... i thought predaking is just awesome as he is already. i cant find much flaws with him.....
im curious to see what they'll do to try and make it even better...
Might get this as well, Ive only got the hip/thigh for Devastator coz thats the only major improvement the G1 mold needed IMO. It does make a lot of difference to the toy. The quality of the plastic is good and colors match quite well. I suggest you guys go for just the same attachment if you wanna "improve" your devy's, the head and articulated fists are not all that necessary IMO, but having devs have 2 poseable thighs is , makes him equal to the other gestalts. I believe 5FDP posted a link of the TFW video review. price yeah bit too high but if you get only the leg attachment its about $35- 40.
hmmm... hes one heavy beast (the metal versions for sure) so that means they are gonna have to make really strong ratcheting joints to maintain weight distributions properly in action poses...
sounds like its gonna be a costly mod for an already expensive figure!!!
... damn...is it really good quality plastic and tight joints?
i wonder why they are charging so much for such a small piece??
yup, good quality plastic, the joints for it is actually ball joints hence the poseability for the hip, but, as for why they charge so much, (Im guessing only) they prolly know that like how the City commander was this add-onn they made will be sought after by the fans.
A point of warning though. Since I guess Devy was never intended in the first place to articulate at the hip, standing him up will be quite challenging at times since he doenst have your usual "footplate" per se. So even with the articulation balancing him for poses will be tricky, if not frustrating at times. I believe this was mentioned and clearly shown in the video review. the problem particularly lies mostly with Scrapper foot. Aesthetics wise it still makes Dev look at par with the other combiners with a working, perceivable thigh. :D When you think about though, even without the old original plate thigh Dev tends to keel over if not properly balanced, so no improvement on that part.:(
