Transformers Prime synopsis?

The new cartoon series that comes out later this year or early next year, looks to have Bumblebee as a primary character, and perhaps a show that focusses on Optimus as someone new to the leadership role (hmmm, a bit like Animated and Beast Wars).

Memo to Hasbro and Bumblebee - "Get a room"

Hopefully the focus will move away from Bumblebee as the show develops. There are a lot richer characters in the TF universe that could make up a successful series as well.

I too am skeptical on this. But we all know that hasbro pushes BB because he appeals to kids more than other characters, and after all, isn't that what hasbro's aim is?

As long as BB as a character develops and isn't the stereotype "fast ignoramus" he was in Animated I don't mind. Sure BB is used as a gateway character to entice kids to get into the franchise, but it doesn't mean he has to be a dolt, kids aren't stupid.

Wonder if this series goes well if they will make a sequel of sorts, developing Prime after he is more comfortable with his new leadership role, or reboot yet again?

In 21st Century cartoon tradition, it will be cancelled just as the story becomes interesting :)

I am actually glad to hear that this isn't in any form of continuity with the Bayverse. It adds hope that this may actually end up being good.

I read this as being more awesome than it probably will be. I interpreted it as meaning that this is a Transformers series without an Optimus. Like maybe trying out other Autobots who have to step up.

But I know that's probably not what they mean.

Could explain why the series will be called Transformers:Prime

and (as i think someone posted or i interpreted from it on TFW2005) it could be connected to the Transformers:War for Cybertron game...
Where the series will follow these events though Bumblebee's Point of View "or something along these lines" ????:confused:

I think it is all speculation though. And with BB looking different in the picture of him in the other thread, to what he looks like in WFC, it is looking less likely.

Agree about being less likely for TF:War For Cybertron
but, not being some sort of prequel at this stage "as" it dose look to be based on a movie design and could possibly be a pre-earth mode Movie Bumblebee

Still it sounds a bit Fraggle Rock. I wonder if BB will get postcards from Uncle Prime at the end of each episode.

Look, I'll enjoy it if it a) Has a good story that moves along and b) characters grow and evolve with the situation.

Heh, maybe this will end with BB becoming Prime. "What we were looking for was always here..."

They do?

Movie bumblebee looks nothing like g1 bumblebee, yet TFP bumblebee looks a lot like movie bumblebee.

Man so tried of the TF movie franchise, sick of looking at the design of the movie toys,its sucking the life out of me.... even worst are powercore combiners ,good as toys to play with but as a collector of fine TF there really crap, just so thankful for Generations line and WFC tie-ins to keep me going. just my humble opinion :p

I'd have to agree with you there autobreadticon.

I have a feeling that it might be my last year of collecting current toylines. When the movie comes out next year, I'll probably just focus on back-collecting.

Design and story continuity are two different things. It has been made clear so far that they are not within the same story continuity despite Bumblebee's movie design similarities.

As for the Bumblebee namedrop, it's probably just that - a namedrop of a well-known "character type" and trademark. From everything I've heard, War for Cybertron is a prequel to TF Prime, what with the similar "a new Autobot leader steps up in their darkest hour" storylines.


I don't see what all the complaining about Bumblebee's exposure is about, just deal with the fact you're just along for the ride in Transformers. Besides, he wasn't the primary character of Animated and barely appeared in Revenge of the Fallen, so are you really miffed about his role in Transformers marketing now rather than his (so far, average screen time) appearances in media?

The fact it looks like the movie version but drawn is clear it is taking from the movie universe in that of itself. Call it marketing and "identity" tie-in if you want. There will be another movie following this cartoon run afterall.

There is conflicting Primary sources on that. We have the head game designer specifically saying that this is a G1 prequel several times. We only have one source at Hasbro saying that this is a tie in to the new cartoon.

My theory is that Hasbro wants to 'shoe-horn' the game into TF: Prime despite them both originally being designed as separate universes. Of course, we won't know this for sure until we see the game story first hand but my common sense and gut feeling tells me that the game designers did not have TF: Prime in mind during most of the development of WFC.

Why not, in G1 bio it says he's got no known physical weakness;)... better than Prime then and he can travel undersea as well:D also he's mentally adjusted already that he doesnt need to look up to his "idols" anymore, he's his own bot:D
