New to the OTCA boards, haven't really perused them much. I usually find my toys by doing the shop and convention rounds XD

Also, if you were at SMASH 2009, you may have seen me in Prowl door-wings.
If you were at Sydney Supernova this year on Saturday, you will have seen me in a Prowl costume ;D

My main reason for coming here is a want to organise some more cosplayers, but also i like to geek out with other transfans cause they're so hard to come by XD I DO actually have a sizeable TF collection (which expanded by the purchase of a new Drift toy and a legends class Bayverse ravage only today X3 ).
I cheated somewhat though... i ganked a whole bunch of my bro's old transformers ^.^ lol.

Friends and relos who no longer want their collections are the best way to get old toys IMO. You get lots, and they're free! Besides, if you don't take them they'll just sit in storage or get thrown out or sold.

Seriously guys, death is one of the broadest concepts in existence. Even just as a 'character', there's Terry Pratchett's Death, Neil Gaiman's DC Death, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's combined Death from Good Omens, Jim Starlin's Marvel Comics' Death and Marvel's Archangel, Wolverine, Gambit, Erik The Red have all been Death, and Chaucer wrote about Death in the Canterbury Tales. Death's even a regular in Family Guy.

And this is evident in the fact that it's been asked if the handle came from Supernatural, a band, or Unicron's Four Horsemen. There's no harm in asking where someone got their name from and until it's been verified, people should be free to speculate however they choose.

I prefer to think it comes from Transformers. :cool: Perhaps it's from Decepticon commander Death Zaras.

The way I see it is if someone else (who knows about the character) can ID it then it's a successful cosplay.

It was very obvious your were going for Blurr in your cosplay and it was even clear enough that it was IDW Blurr.

Another thing with Cosplaying is that it's CosPLAYing... half of the fun is the costume, the other half is becoming the character. In Animania 2004 there was this awesome Kaonashi (Spirited Away) Cosplayer who never once broke character! When he was on stage the MC asked him a string of questions (as you do) because the judges want to know how much effort went into making the costume etc., and the whole time all he said was, "uh... uh... uh..." -- it was brilliant! :D He then later turned to the audience and these gold covered chocolate nuggets shot out of his wrists. ;)

So I think when you dress up as the character you gotta _become_ the character. :) In Supanova 2005 I won a cosplay prize despite the fact that I was wearing NO costume, because:
1/ I completely became my character, and
2/ The character I chose is an official existing character yet has no physical form!

The character was the Malice of Sauron (Sauron's will that inhabits the Ring and speaks to Frodo). I won a prize for originality. (hey, I got a free DVD from just wearing an Autobot T-shirt and saying "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul" (it's the Ring poem in Sauron's language).

Getting back to Transformers Cosplay, I forgot to post a pic of my Ratchet cosplay I did back in 2006. :)
