Pretender G1 Bludgeon
Technically not a Transformer, but still....
While I like the ROTF Bludgeon figure, it doesn't really look like a Pretender to me.
So here's this version, which is a bit more humanoid than the ROTf figure.
It was made out of a fast battler GI Joe Cobra Viper trooper ($5 at Toyworld!) with a Snake-Eyes sword. The helmet and waist gear came from a Ninja Elite figure. The helmet was a tight fit and alas his head can't turn.
There is a bit of lack of definition around his teeth, which I may try fix later.
As you can see, size-wise it's between Deluxe and Voyager.
Maybe I'll paint up a G2 Megatron legends for the inner bot.

Nice work!! I think a repainted G2 Megatron would go really well with this.

Personally I love the look of the Bludgeon character as he is so awesome on so many levels and Snaketales, you've managed to tick many of the boxes with this effort! :D
It certainly goes for a more G1 look, that's for sure, and I'd really like to see you paint up a Classics G2 Megatron to go with him - It'll compliment the 'shell' ;) really well. :D
-
Very nice, just indeed a few detailing of the skull face. Since this will be the "shell" so to speak, why not try a legends Univese Megatron (G2 meg tank) for a backpack:D, After all, bludgeon's innerbot is a tank:D. Though how it would attack at his back to form the pack I leave up to you hehehehe:D

Finally found a G2 legends Megatron and gave it a new paint job. I wanted to remove the tank barrel from the side of its head but no matter what I tried (soldering gun - the space I had to heat up was tiiiiiny -or boiling water) it refused to move. Ah well.
You can't make it out but I have painted silver over Meg's eyes so his eyebrow ridge now looks like Bludgeon's visor.
My next plan is to come up with something so the tank mode can be carried as a backpack.

Now my kids can stop asking me when I'm going to finish "the orange guy".

What did you use to attach the legends figure? magnet? lego plate?
-
Nothing so elaborate... it's just two nails that the tank hangs off of. Bludgie needed a repaint after they'd been hammered in.

Simple but extremely effective, an absolutely well executed custom yet again Snakey & what you've presented is a possible new direction one could take the "Pretender" gimmick; Transforming "backpacks" for highly articulated figures that make use of key parts of the robot's alt mode for it's weapons. ;)
-
That is another fantastic custom. You come up with some great ideas.

Thats pretty cool - really like the transforming backpack too.
