If true I wonder if these are getting a Western release.
Awesome news.
Kup was pretty much guaranteed with the upcoming release of MP Rodimus.
Nice to see that Rumble and Frenzy are getting a release what with PE monopolizing on those of late.
I hope wheeljack has LEDs :)
I'm pretty excited about Wheeljack... and curious to see the first images when released.
This line gets better and better
Am I dreaming?
This news is feeding my addiction.. for all this classicsverse crack!
I just broke down, put em all on my -to acquire list- yep.. getting all of em'
Can finally be relieved to the fact that wheeljack is officially confirmed, not only that but- what?? RUMBLE AND FRENZY?
I wonder what these 2 guys are going to be? cassettes? or something else?- does this mean a classics styled Soundwave release will be inevitable?
I personally hope they will be done in the vein of Universe Ravage- piledrivers and all- but judging from that information- the 2 will be sold as a voyager class- so they might be 2 scout sized figs?
Cant wait for pics of these guys!!
Rumble and Frenzy are great news and about freaking time! I have the PerfectEffect toys but if these official ones are of the appropriate aesthetics, I will place them in my Classics shelf with Music Label Soundwave and replace the earphones.
I will use the PE ones as WFC Rumble and Frenzy.
Wheeljack is equally good news, I hope they get the character right.
I think Wheeljack is a retooled Tracks. If you look at Tracks's gun in Hasbro's (badly transformed) non-photoshopped pics, it uses the same clips as his shoulder rockets (and that have been seen on toys since ROTF).
The "gun" is also the same design as Wheeljack's shoulder rocket.
the blue one is a blue rhino?:p lol i wonder what theyll turn into?
Since TT are using what Hasbro calls Reveal the Shield as United (Jazz & Tracks), I think that means we should get Grapple as a United release. Hopefully Windcharger too.
Who's Lugnut? Everyone else is G1.
MP3 files. ;) :pQuote:

That would be a really great way for the toy designers to acknowledge the fact that Frenzy and Rumble were originally NOT meant to be just clones of each other; and that only Rumble was the one who could produce earthquakes and Frenzy's power was to produce destructive audio waves. If the woofers are too obscure for newer fans, then perhaps AHM-style drillhands? (or for something kinky, drillnuts :p)Quote:

Technically Drift isn't G1 (not original G1 anyway) and he's being released in Japan under United. Also aren't they releasing a CHUGUR version of G2 Laser Prime under United? And isn't United meant to be a continuation of Henkei? If so, then there were already non-G1 characters in Henkei anyway.Quote:

Because originally the list would have been written in Japanese, and at some point someone transliterated them to English - probably by someone who doesn't speak English as a first language (which is far more tolerable than seeing native speakers freequently screw upp speeling grammer adn :p).Quote:

English speakers also do the same thing with phonetics that don't exist in English (e.g. pronounce "tsunami" with a silent "t", whereas in Japanese the "t" is pronounced).
Wheeljack is an engineer, not a scientist. *gramble* :p
More detailed (& commented) pics of Tracks

I'm still not convinced. Those other three are defining characters of their original lines.
Hopefully Japanese Tracks will have a better hood decal.
The more I see of Tracks the less I like what I see. I'll still get him though because he is one of my favourite characters.
It's also disappointing that Wheeljack will be a retooled Tracks. He deserves his own mold dammit!
My god what is on that hood
Lugnut and Lockdown seem to be fan favourites, or at least Designer favourites, so they've created more toys of each, after their Animated appearance. Personally, I don't like the 'laziness' and 'contamination' of one series with another series' iconic/unique characters.
Homages to Gen1 is one thing, and if a series is full of then, it's not a big deal. But when you have a universe of its own characters and designs, a couple of homages/copied designs and characters to a completely unrelated series, just seems cheap and out of place.
Even seeing Lockdown in the IDW Gen1 universe (in the Drift comic), seems out of place.
Thats nothing dude. There are spelling errors like that all through the parts catalouges I used in my old job and those are distributed by major car manufacturers. I was always surprised at the lack of professionalism shown by them.
Geez spoiler alert please :p (j/k)
Sorry. I hesitated, thinking it might spoil, but he's on the front cover...
I'd like to politely disagree there, Griffin. I don't think it's Laziness or contamination if the Designers for the Movie toys thought Lockdown was cool enough to be given the Movie treatment. He's one of my Favourite ROTF toys and now has greater crossover value after appearing in Drift's series. If the designers love these characters I say make more Animated Homages, it was great to see G1 characters get the Animated treatment, why is so wrong for the unique characters of Animated to get the reverse?
I myself love these Animated to Classics/Movieverse conversions. I'll buy Lugnut and would really love to see a Generations Blitzwing with some design cues from Animated (Mainly the three faces) And a G1 Bulkhead like the one I saw in a Mosiac comic. and to keep on topic I'd love a new Wheeljack and hope that they do a similar sideswipe/sunstreaker altered transformation for him and Tracks.
heheheheh Autobot cup (kup)
Voyager sized packaging? :p:p

Wreck Gar is a medic?? Ah well I guess when you can bring back a decapitated body like - Magnus and Springer back to life , you are one. Better than Perceptor who can't even fix Optimus with just those shoddy side wounds, cripes Prime got blasted even internally ( by lazerbeak) before and was able to survive with Ratchet and Wheeljack on the job. Perceptor's just useless.:p
back on topic...
Im hoping they make a new head mold at least for Wheeljack and not just a straight on repaint of Tracks down to the head mold. otherwise Id track down an Energon Downshift just to cannibalize the head:o
I agree.
I think it also binds the Transformers multiverse together more tightly. Making it seem like every character exists in each universe one way or another having greater impact or importance in some universes and little to none in others
I think it makes it more interesting to compare the charactersation between series.
One of the things I love about Animated Optimus Prime is that he isn't top bot. He pretty much got kicked out of the military and is just in charge of a dinky little rapair crew.
I'd like to see a Megatron like that.
Also reminds me of a movie called 'The One' with Jet Li.
I agree. :)Quote:

"What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?!?"
Courtesy of Seibertron.com, pics have been allegedly produced depicting the 'Alternate Transformation' that will be utilised to differentiate Turbo Tracks from Wheeljack.
Here are the 2 main pics comparing the end results (Supposedly):
(The pics are ridiculously big, so here are the links)

I wonder if Rumble and Frenzy will be a combiner? I could so see Hasbro recasting them to be like the twins in Animated.
Courtesy of Seibertron.com, apparently from an anonymous source - the upcoming Frenzy and Rumble will transform into half a Voyager Class sized Tank each (Like Combiner Micromasters or the Twins Icecream Truck) and will apparently have their Piledriver arms.
Why a Tank?
This is probably the one time I'll have a problem with another TF Tank because these guys really shouldn't be one.
I don't mind the combiner gimmick but I'd of preferred some other Alt Mode - But I guess this is little more than a rumour so until pics surface, I suppose I shouldn't get worked up about it. :D
The idea of making them combiners is interesting. Means that they'll be different moulds and not straight repaints. Also means they should be sold together and we won't have to hunt each down separately.
