So we finally see Strafe. It kind of works, the orange daggers are a nice nod to Strafe's weapons, but I'd still rather see Terradive in Strafe's colours.
does that mean we will get a repaint of skystalker too??
Damn that Lugnut looks HAWT. Buy on sight material right there. :D
Sunspot but it's a Decepticon so an odd team up..
I will give Strafe a miss but Lugnuts and Grapple are a must-buy for me. :)
Courtesy of TFW2005.com, Big Bad Toy Store has released Offical Images of these upcoming Voyager Class figures: Lugnut, Grapple & Strafe.
My views?
Lugnut - Very intriguing indeed!.
Grapple - Meh, I'll buy him.
Strafe - ...WTF?, That colour scheme and that Mold Do Not work together!
Certainly a solid group of figures, no surprise that Lugnut is my favourite of the three, Strafe is an awesome looking figure (bet the final product is nowhere near as nice) but not a figure that I'll be getting anytime soon after release.
Grapple is how a retool should be done different enough from the original to be worth a purchase.
Merged a couple topics, posted in both News sections. Can be in either while the line is rather ambiguous at the moment (and these aren't movie characters), so will leave this in the general news section as it shouldn't have any movie spoilers.
Lugnut is definitely the best of the lot, but I have never been interested in these toys due to lack of fiction.
Lugnut looks good, but I'll wait for a repaint as I don't like that deco.

I'll be getting the United version ;)
I didn't think they could make a worse tribute to Strafe than then Henkei one, but one should never underestimate Hasbro's ability to disappoint.
Lugnut seems OK, but I don't collect Crossovers.
Lugnut looks very good! Love the way his wings fold around to form his forearm.... and in plane mode, how his fingers clip into the wing to look very inconspicuous! I just hope his chest transform is more Blackout than Lugnut in terms of solidness.
Lugnut does seem kinda cool (for a change:p), but the others don't do much for me.
Wow, Lugnut is all kinds of awesome.
Preordered a case just like I have for all the 2011 releases.
I dont like lugnut much, i'm digging grappel though. even if he is an inferno repaint
Man, I love that Lugnut. and of course I'll be getting Grapple too.
I wasnt keen on Lugnut from the early images I saw, but this is MUCH better.
Grapple was already a lock-in for me.
While I like the Mindwipe mold, for me it doesn't work as Strafe (shrug)
TF source has the same pics up but they've either muted the colours, or BBTS has brightened theirs:

Lugnut looks amazing, however my only issue with it is that the angle of photo for the plane mode looks like it's hiding a considerably sized piece of belly kibble
it looks to be just his legs underneath, unless i have misinterpreted what you meant.
i like this rendition of lugnut. it looks like a very straight-forward transformation and his muter colours are much more pleasing.
i dont like that colour scheme for strafe. eww.
what's surprising is the difference between the 2 pictures of grapple

What I don't get is why they can't make at least the base colour right.
Does it cost them more to tone down the yellow just that little bit?
Oh My God...Lugnut is 110% win...Thank you Hasbro...
:D
I'll pass on Grapple and Strafe...I have Inferno & Mindwipe...
Let's just hope Hasbro continue making these more realistic (I refuse to call them movie) Animated toys as Lockdown and now Lugnut are totally brilliant.
As someone who doesn't collect anything Animated, this Lugnut mold looks freaking awesome IMO.
My only problem though?:
If I were to pick him up, who would I display him with?
I mean, he's moved beyond his previously ugly Animated aesthetic, but he's too 'Movie' orientated to go with my Classics figures... This dilemma might actually prevent me from picking him up at all. :(
Suggestions please people as I really dig this figure but can't stand solitary figures when trying to display them. :o
Grappel and Lugnut look sweet. Grappel is a more extensive retool than I was expecting -- I thought they'd just change the alt mode parts and repaint the rest of the toy, but looking at this picture you can tell the head, forearms and hands are different from Inferno too. Sweet. :) Strafe does nothing for me, so I big pass on him.
So display him with your movie figures. Sea Spray was initially intended for "Classics" - and arguably ROTF Bludgeon too - but the final products place them in the movie universe, so I display them on my movie TF shelves.Quote:

Agreed - ROTF Bludgeon should've gone in the Classics line, but I bought him anyway just because the character oozes so much Awesome it's ridiculous! :D
Dude, I'm way ahead of you on the shelving department - I'm trying to build a display case out of necessity more than opportunity though. :p
Yeah I'm a bit of the same. At last I am able to display my collection properly, now that I own (most my own) place, and I just plain need to show stuff, because what's the point of if being all in boxes?
But how do I display things properly?
Open Shelves? Display Cases? Glass? Wood?
How it tasks me so.
Strafe's really getting some love nowadays (I bet Nosecone's feeling neglected), but that's a pretty badlt forced repaint.
Yep I'll be getting Grapple.
