anyways, its a good attempt at recreating Don's work and enclines work, but im gonna have to pass.
It looks like a voyager class size...if it was a supreme size or bigger, then i'd be all over that!!
He looks much better Green if you ask me, the same way Knight Commander looks better Black, some times Prime clones just don't need to be red.
Just received my 2 Grand Patriots (green and red versions)
When i preordered, it was only available both together. I have only opened the red version as it is the one I will be keeping
First with the positives
Great homage for Joe and TF fans
Displayed looks great.
Both the guns are IMO are the BEST OP guns ever (will add pics when I get home)
Box is very secure and is packed like the recent punch/counterpunch with foam insert
Come with extra head with yellow visor and slightly different faceplate.
Now with the negatives
Plastic feels a lot cheaper than other 3rd party products
The matrix is a lame blue translucent donut that doesn't sit in his chest properly
One of the knee joints is very loose
Front wheels sit loosely on GPs back and don't seem to click in anywhere
Extending the legs feels like you will tear him in 2
Rotating the chest down was/is much more scary than trying to get city commanders legs on
The trailer feels unfinished. When opened up, parts fell out. There appears to be small screw holes to hold parts on however there are no screws
The joints on the arm that holds the cannons are "floppy" and the missiles fall down.
I will be adding photos when I get home. Of course these are just my opinions so take from this what you like.
Interested in seeing pictures of this. I was keen on getting one if I had the funds, seems like I may be better off not getting it :p
nice - i'm still undecided on this one. I guess they might do a 2nd run where they fix the problems people complain about.

Different heads. To me yellow eyes looks a little like soundwave lol also stupid matrix donut required a bit of force to stay in place
Wheels on back don't tab in anywhere and just hang but can be removed easily

The guns look kick-ass!, unfortunately the rest looks quite the opposite as from the photos - The plastic looks well cheap and your eight on the additional head, it really does look Soundwave-esque! :p
Trailer is uninspiring to say the least. You see where there should be some screws but there is not??? Just feels unfinished. Managed to get missiles to stay up but any movement and they would "flop" down.

Those are either supposed to be screwed together or at least glued because clearly friction isn't working. :mad:
And yeah, for the fact that you're forced to buy 2, more or less, you don't seem to really be getting what your money's worth - Either that or FansProject has just set a very hard level for others to achieve. :D

Overall, not a terrible purchase. Just not worth $90+postage. I dont hate the figure. I guess when you see the quality of other 3rd party products, your expectations increase. As an optimus fan, I will happily display him on my OP shelf with all my others but if you are not into G.I.Joe or hugely into OP, I'd give it a miss. I have for sale the GREEN version of Grand Patriot of which I had no intentions of keeping anyway as I only wanted the OP version but I would suspect it suffers from all the same flaws.
I'd probably grab the green one if I could get it cheap, but at 90 plus post, and it being a limited item I doubt I ever will.
Did anyone ever get one of these? Thoughts?
