Yeah, 25,000 Yen ($290) appears to be the RRP as seen on Action Robo.
BBTS also has the shipping weight listed as 2.8 pounds/1.27 kgs.
That's almost the same as a 1.25 litre bottle of Pepsi.
That's extremely disappointing, yet expected.
That does seem light but have any comparisons made between the height of Trypticon and Metroplex/FM?
not really, its also based on bulk not just the weight.
TT shadows......sigh....they need to improve on marketing, since Hasbro has already SHOWED the product, its no longer logical to continue to tease, I only can based a decision on full on toy pics. They lost me at Fort Max and they loosing me again. Oh well I guess I spend on something else.
Fair call. I do use MYUS.com as my US freight forwarder for orders from the US. What's great about them is they just use the shipping weight, not volumetric weight (they call it TruePrice). But in this case it's still probably cheaper to order directly from Japan than from say Amazon US, BBTS etc.

Welp, I caved and put in an order through P.C. :(
At least it should look good with my SDCC Fort Max.
Aside from deco, what could takara add to Trypticon? I mean I got TT Fort Max because of faceplate and sword thingo, but I can't think of anything that significant to warrant a TT trypticon over the hasbro one
My only concern with LG-43 is ... where are all the other LGs that should be released between LG-42 and LG-43
That is a long long gap of waiting and hoping that Takara actually release some of the items that Hasbro are putting out in the Titan Masters line.
Fingres crossed its just holding off releasing Legends toys along side Movie toys
Well... on the one hand, a September release at BBTS would mean August release in Japan, and that's 3 months after LG-42 (May)... which was also 3 months after LG-41 (February). So not a sudden drought because of the Movie toys.
But on the other hand, after getting 3-5 Legends toys most months in the second half of last year to give us 19 regular release toys, we've just got just three for the first three-quarters of 2017... so I don't think it's because of the Movie line, as this drought started in January.
It means a lot are being missed if Trypticon is number 43, as we have 3 waves from Hasbro between the toys that TakaraTomy did so far (up to wave 2's Astrotrain), to Trypticon who will come out at about the same time as the wave 5 TR toys.
Toys with hollowed out parts aren't necessarily lighter.
e.g. Combiner Wars Hook weighs 176g whereas Generations Springer with all accessories attached weighs 148g. So despite Hook's 'hollowness,' he's actually heavier than non-hollowed Voyagers like Springer.
Dengeki Hobby posted 'pics' of LG-43 but it's all the same renders we saw from Hasbro but with their watermark on it. I'm not even sure if TT released the pics so it could just be them posting the Hasbro pics in order to run a story about it
http://hobby.dengeki.com/news/349470/
I hope not! And it's a bit disconcerting when TTMall is using the same renders as Hasbro rather than live shots which they have traditionally done...
Nonetheless it's showing us the comparative size of the toy with Metroplex and that the tail isn't too short as others had been concerned about with the CG promotional renders. :)
It's a nice comparison for sure! But TT could have used a grey prototype to ably demonstrate scale and dimensions, or in the absence of that, put in a disclaimer that the final colours may vary etc...
This only confuses the consumer who is deciding which version to choose.
He's up at HLJ for preorder.
I was going to get him from PC, I cashed in my 1000 Energon points, went through the checkout and found that Zippay isn't working at the moment. Lame. I hope the $65 off coupon doesn't expire.
It looks like they have bent Metroplex's legs a bit for the pic and straightened Trypticon up more than he has been in any other photo we have seen to date, making them look approximately the same height. \
I still think Trypticon is shorter, but perhaps its not such the discrepancy that many (including myself) had feared.
Cheers for the heads up :) I've preordered and if it turns out that there is little difference between it and the Hasbro version and Hasbro's works out a lot cheaper I can always cancel.
Eh... the height difference doesn't appear to be terribly significant. It doesn't look nearly as bad as the height difference between G1 Fortress Maximus and Scorponok. ;)
Here's another of my Tomy Mall translations, the CGI pictures used are the same as those most of us have already seen for Trypticon/Full-Tilt/Necro, but with a nice little disclaimer at the bottom of each telling us that they are CGI renders and the final product may vary, the rest:

2017 Legends Series Featured Item!
Transforming into robot, vehicle and base modes, Triple-Changer "Dynosaurer" revealed!
Total robot mode height is about 45cm! Mouth has Headmaster eating fun feature.
Base and vehicle modes have "storage compartments" - "Start Game/Play" luxurious/glorious specification that you can enjoy! (I really don't know what that means, "lots of ways you can play with it", maybe?)
1 deluxe size equivalent Headmaster "Full-Tilt" included/attached.
Product Description: Dinosaurer Body (1), Full-Tilt (Vehicle) (1), Headmaster (1), Catapult (1), Weapon (1), User Seal (1), Instruction Manual (1)
Dinosaurer Body, Full-Tilt, Headmaster & Instruction Manual are pretty self-explanatory, although I'd have hoped TakTom might have used the designs official name for "Headmaster" (not that they have on most of their other Headmaster listings).
The Catapult doesn't seem to be pictured, unless its the tower gun that was part of Brunt in the original and had a vehicle launcher (could be called a vehicle catapult) beneath it in City Mode, in which case Trypticon already has one.
The "Weapon" mentioned is Full-Tilt's Gun, again not a new accessory, meaning the new accesory is...
A "User Seal"!... for those of you who don't know, that means it could be in the form of a relief cut coin, medallion or seal stamp (think device for imprinting a wax seal or more recently stamping ink onto a document) - if it were Hasbro we were talking about it'd probably be a small paper owners certificate with a foil sticker on it (as dissapointing as it sounds, please TakTom don't let it be that dissapointing!).
Unfortunately there is no mention of any "yet to be revealed" or "secret" bonus, so unless I miss my guess about the catapult, I think we'll be looking to the SDCC/Convention/Hasbro Asia releases to fulfill our Brunt hopes.
The image here clearly identifies some features of Dinosaurer, especially the Japanese Necro's real name, which most of us had already guessed. For your benefit, well TakTom's designers/managements benefit really, his name is written in English and Phoenetically in Japanese. The rest of the text, if you really want to know (I did so I asked for confirmation of my translations), is simply Throat, Upper Jaw (roof of the mouth/palet really since no animal/robo-dinosaur has an upper jaw), Lower Jaw & Eyeball in Japanese.
