To air next year. Has a teaser poster for it, quite like the artwork for it.
I was not much of a fan, but I'd be keen to watch it.

I'd be keen to watch this. Although I never collected any of the toys, I consider myself a fan.
I think the original series came out in '86 which by that point, I was 11 yrs of age... a little late to get into the toys without my parents thinking there was somthing wrong with me.
If I had the money and the inclination to collect another toy line, Thundercats would be it.
I will be watching this. I also look forward to see who gets the toy license. If this is a 2011 series then I wouldn't be suprised to see the first few figures at SDCC.
I am hoping it is Mattel who has the license
cool cant wait to see how this turns out
Oh my god, this is the best news I've heard all week!
Plus there's a strong chance they'll do a toyline too. I want another Lion-O figure to replace mine which has lost his sword and is all sticky-melted plastic thanks to our weather.
Excellent. So much about Thundercats never quite lived up to its potential. I hope a new series will take all those great aspects of the Thundercat mythos that one step beyond.
Thundercats Ho!
Cool - Yeah, I also hope Mattel makes these figs... can you say TC/MOTUC crossover?!
I knew about the talked-about CG movie, but this is news to me. Thundercats was one of my childhood favourites (even though I never had any of the toys), so I'll be paying close attention to this one.
I find that I'm already wondering about the music - Bernard Hoffer's original score is magnificent.
Looks like Bandai got the rights to the toys...
(Might have to settle for a Thundercats/GoBots crossover instead :D)
New Details on Thundercats show.

Further to our original discussion of Bandai getting the rights to the new toyline - here is a first pic...

cant wait for this! thunder tank rocks!
Awesome that sword is so goone be mine!!
I wonder if Lion-O will still shout 'ho' when he wants Cheetara to come to his aid...
(Cool toys.)
are they 3 3/4" sized figures?
More info...
Interesting about the 3 (maybe 4) different size scales, as well as Snarf as a pack-in.Quote:

G2 Gobots
G2 Go-Bots (subline) -- later repainted as Spychangers in RiD
Transformers Go-Bots (aka Transformers Big Adventures. They had their own cartoon!)
G1 Gobots (eHobby)
Armada Leader-1
BotCon Bug Bite
Megatron kills Cy-Kill
MovieVerse Crasher (called Fracture for legal reasons)
So funny seeing all those signs prohibiting photographs...
Sounds like I am the only one here that likes Snarf :o
I never really watched the show, so I can't comment :p
Snarf is your typical sidekick character, like a combination of Orko, Cringer and Wheelie. and that wierd thing from Jettsons.
I was never that big a Thundercats fan, not quite sure why, something about the show didn't work for me, always prefered the Silverhawks myself.
Not sure about this new series or toys, though that Thunder Tank does look nice, but I don't trust modern toy companies making vehicles they always make them to simple with lame sound gimmicks.
I have just watched this. First two episodes were released yesterday.
I went in with a neutral mindset just to see if it was any good. Although the 'anime' animation felt a bit odd at first (specially with Snarf, Kit and Kat), the story was incredibly good. It was certainly much much better than I would have imagined it to be.
The animation in general was pretty good with the exception of the character models I mentioned and the story wasn't just uninspired cliche 'meh' like it is with TF:Prime. It was actually pretty damn good with a lot of character depth and some bold but positive changes to the Thundercats lore.
What I liked:
- The whole 'classical age' inspired world in which technology is but a myth.
- Thunderans are not just 'good cat people' but were also arrogant and imperialistic oppressing or intimidating other races in 3rd Earth.
- Thunderan society is portrayed as very human with both the bad and good.
- Well thought out story line that establishes the premise of the series very well.
- Writers are putting some seeds, they appear willing to do some world building in their writing unlike in TF Prime.
- The Lizards are not just a typical cartoon 'evil race'. They have some gray areas with hints that some may even be good or at least have good conscience.
- Previously 'plain' characters have been totally re-written such as Tigra.
- Awesome animation with the mechs.
- Snarf doesn't talk!
- I can go on.
What I didn't like:
- Cutesy character animation such as Wily-Kity and Wily-Kat.
- Don't care much about Snarf's cutesy design either but I am so glad he doesn't talk and is just a pet.
- Weird anime moments like when Jaga and his clerics were running like the flash.
- Mum-Ra was a little too odd. Not really scary, just funny looking.
The positives considerably outweigh the negatives and I really enjoyed this show. I can't wait to watch the next episode - When is it out?
Intriguing. I may have to watch these when I get the chance. Never watched the original cartoons.
just finished watching this and wow that was pretty damn good.
i dont think i had anything to complain about and i watched the original series when i was very young so dont remember much about it to compare.
@kup next episode is out Friday Aug. 5th, 2011 8:30/7:30c on Cartoon Network so Saturday for us.
Watched it last night and I did actually enjoy the show. It felt like it was written with respect and some intelligence too. I will keep watching it for sure :D
yea i loved it, very cool show. mummra looked like a hunchback toad wearing a cape though .
I liked it. The flash like clerics were a bit strange but overall I thought it was quite good.
watched it this morning, thought it was pretty good..
for some reason Cartoon network cartoons just look all the same way these days...
where do u watch this i tried youtube has been taken off. thanks or pm me :)
Anybody watched the new version of Thundrcats? First 3 eps have aired in the states and they are pretty awesome. discuss?
Whoops didn't see those other posts sorry. I really enjoyed it. I thought the whole idea of Cheetra being part of Jaga's cleric order was awesome. I though the characterization was excellent and the reimagining of characters such as snarf made them more palatable and took them out of the relm of campery. Looking forward to more eps.
episode 3 link..
