It did see a release here, but for like a week, and not everywhere.
I too have to get it, and then I want to see the sequal :D

Being a HUGE Seagal fan, I loved Machette. Saw it before it's release here (which was supposed to be in November). Highly recommended for fans of grindhouse films.

No worries. Thanks for the Monsters ticket.
BTW I stayed for half and hour after and the skateboarding seemed to be the only thing happening. When I asked some staff back inside they presumed it was all that was taking place as well as they hadn't been told much.

Does anyone know anything about the sequal to The Last Starfighter titled 'Starfighter'? I love the original, but I wanna know if the sequal actually went ahead (was apparently supposed to be out last year)

i heard a rumor for sometime this year i sort of dont want them to make a sequel they'll probably just mess it up and ruin the first one by doing so

True, I love the first one, used to watch everytime I was off school sick lol.

 Someone else remembers and loves The Last Starfighter  That is one of my all-time fav movies. I watched it just last week. I can't believe it hasn't been released on DVD here.
I hadn't heard about this 'sequel'. I'll watch it if / when it comes out, but nothing can beat the original

I remember being freaked out at the scene where the kids brother's duplicate takes off his head and tells his brother to go to sleep.
This movie reminds me of Flight of the Navigator.

Looking hot!
But it appears he maybe also suffer from the same need-to-take-his-mask-off-all-the-time problem that Tobey had (also known as "make sure the star gets his face on screen as much as possible").

Recently watched "Skyline" and "Tomorrow when the war began". Skyline was not very good but I really like Tomorrow when the war began. Can't wait for the sequels to be made.

You finally watched it? How close is it to the book? I almost bought it today, great film, and hope that the sequels happen.

From my memory pretty close. But I haven't read the book in years. The_damned is cuurently reading the book and he says it's pretty accurate apart from modernising it with mobile phones, the beyoncee reference when Homer "shakes it" (lol funny stuff:D) etc

It was close enough bar one scene with Robin towards the end of the film, which I understand why they put it there, who knows if they'll ever get to the third movie.
A few other small changes (Dump truck with a digging scoop rather than an actual earth mover like the book), don't really change the story or characters at all.
And the modernising was good and was done very well..
