Doh, a month too early for me
If I could think of anything I want cheap (since I am selling the collection) I'd be in touch :)
Looks like MP-30 Ratchet might be on shelves tonight/tomorrow in Hong Kong as Animate HK has him up on their FB page with a sticker price of HK$460 (approx AU$75/76). Animate get direct from Japan so their distribution doesn't include the coin.
MP Wheeljack back in on shelves in Hong Kong.
Price at my local is HK$378 (AU$67.50)

Today's Hong Kong sightings (Wonderland North Point):
Kidslogic AoE Grimlock is out on shelves.
As is Oritoy Optimus Prime.
https://c7.staticflickr.com/8/7190/2...76d21788_z.jpg
(all prices in HK$)
Also available are all of wave 1 Titans Wars. Went to grab the last Optimus from my local and another guy snatched him first, looked at me with a smirk and walked off to pay for him. LOL - Gotta love Hong Kong. Hoping I'll be able to score him tonight in Mong Kok.
As Griffin mentioned in international sightings RID figures are also out... I picked up the last Windblade for my daughter. All the other characters had already sold out at my local store.
https://c6.staticflickr.com/8/7436/2...6bbbc153_z.jpg
I'm waiting for ani-con in July to get Grimlock and look at the Oritoy Prime as they often offer extras or discounts which make the cost more worthwhile.
I do have to say the AoE Grimlock does look mighty nice fully painted up.
Power Surge Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe came out in HK today.
On shelf the cheapest I saw Power Surge OP was HK$399 in Wan Chai.
Wave 1 Titans Return is out here in the local stores (haven't checks TRU yet). Power Master Prime ranges in price from HK$430 to HK$470 while Blaster is only HK$380.
And if anyone is after EVA Prime there is a store in Wan Chai that has him (real not KO) for *choke* HK$3999.
The G1 Coloured Bay-former Dinobots have gone on discount here for HK$298 (Approx AU$52):
https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7534/2...871d6c33_z.jpg
Also sighted today which I've never seen before:
https://c1.staticflickr.com/8/7441/2...deb1b4c3_z.jpg
Note: I think this has also just come out in the UK according to the Foreign Toy thread...
That is a real big clearance price... like buying 2 Deluxe and getting 2 Voyagers and a Deluxe for free.
Even though it is Movie Dinobots and I have 4 sets already from the different versions released :o I would probably get that set at that price, pretty much just for the uniquely "Gen1" heads.
It is very tempting and I admit my son took a good long look at them before deciding to get a Titans Returns figure instead. He justified it with the fact he has 2 sets of all the figures already and he doesn't like the G1 heads on the bay-formers dinobots... he wants the real G1 looking dinobots. :)
I would gladly buy a few for Oz based people but the problem is the boxes are so darn long they are impossible to ship because none of the HK Post boxes fit them (same issue with the SDCC 3 pack boxes) and I don't trust the hasbro packaging as strong enough to withstand international air mail on it's own even wrapped in bubble wrap.
Are these available in the airport? I'm going through in a couple of weeks...
Wow, Animated Rodimus and Jetfire are still pegwarming!
There were more than just them - Ratchet and the Jetwing Optimus as well.
It would seem Hong Kong has found a whole pile of MIB/MOC Animated figures over the last few months and put them back on shelves with those cheaper prices. I don't collect Animated - it's the one iteration of Optimus I really don't like either in personality or aesthetic so I always overlook these guys. A few months back they also had Blitzwing and another chunky plane looking character. I've given up trying to figure out how the logic of all these cases of figures get found and re-distributed but it seems to be a common thing here in HK to see a case of "old" figures pop up from time to time for random toy sales.
Also "new" on shelves were the Revenge of the Fallen robot replicas (Japanese release) non transforming figures so I picked up Optimus and Ironhide for HK$68. (Real figures not KO's).
Just picked up a set of the new Titans Return figures from United Square's Toys'R'Us store in Singapore.
Titan Masters Wave 1 (Crashbash, Loudmouth, Nightbeat, Terri-Bull)
Titan Return Legends Class Wave 7 (Autobot Rewind, Autobot Stripes, Autobot Wheelie)
Titan Return Deluxe Class (Fracas & Scourge, Furos & Hardhead, Grax & Skullsmasher, Hyperfire & Blurr)
Don't think they were meant to hit the shelves yet as they were all still in their delivery cases.
Didn't bother with the voyager class figures.
Continued this discussion here :)

Is this guy a new release? 1-step RID Blizzard Strike Sideswipe and 1-step Orange Drift were on shelves in Toys R Us today. I don't remember seeing them before.
HK Toys R Us also finally have the full range of Wave 1 Titans Return figures in stock. They aren't priced much higher than smaller stores which is a pleasant surprise.
Just got back from a family trip to Shanghai.
I didn't get a time to try and hunt down specialist toy stores while there however in our travels I encountered 3 toy stores with Transformers in them.
Interestingly prices for Transformers are generally about 10% higher than in Hong Kong when you take exchange rate into consideration. Some specialist sets were almost 50% more expensive than Hong Kong.
https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7484/2...24484943_z.jpg
Straight out of customs and my kids came across a convenience store that had Transformers "sets" - a plastic drinking cup and 4 blind packed figures for RMB68. They are officially licensed to a Chinese company which might be why I've never seen them in HK. We got 3 as my son wanted a Grimlock cup, my daughter wanted a cup with Strafe on it and I got good old Optimus Prime.
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8899/2...c893c171_z.jpg
The figures were regular, gold or silver with gold and silver having a stamp built into their base. These are just the Optimus figures we got. :)
The large Toys'R'Us in Pudong had these Transformers figures that haven't been released in Hong Kong.
https://c7.staticflickr.com/9/8780/2...a07998ff_z.jpg
Grimlock was sold out. :/
https://c6.staticflickr.com/8/7596/2...6de72833_z.jpg
This Optimus sold out "a long time ago" according to the sales staff.
https://c4.staticflickr.com/9/8126/2...01ffba2e_z.jpg
They still had stock of Megaton and Starscream.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8161/2...cc3061b2_z.jpg
I brought this Optimus. Bumblebee (in both sizes) was shelf-warming taking up over 1/2 the shelf space for these figures.
https://c6.staticflickr.com/9/8799/2...55f6d4c0_z.jpg
Here's the box from my Optimus. I'll post more pics when I open him up. :)
This store also had Year of the Monkey Optimus Primal reduced to RMB299 (which I think is just above AU$50)... I suspect if lots of Transformers collectors hit town for cybertroncon those will sell out quickly.
There was a store on the 7th floor of a "children's" shopping mall in the Bund (a district in Shanghai) that also had a selection of Transformers. They were the same price as Toys'R'Us and didn't have any unique figures - mostly just Combiner Wars like Wheeljack and Smokescreen.
The final store I found Transformers in was in a seriously crowded tourist district near Yu Yuan (Yu Garden) called Superman Toys. They had loads of Transformers as well as a display. Prices were slightly cheaper here for CW figures.
They had a Year of the Snake Omega Supreme which was tempting but as I don't know what the proper retail would be I didn't risk buying it (internet is not easy to access while out and about). Interestingly they had the AoE power battler toys sold in boxes, not on cards like in Hong Kong.
They also had the oversized KO figures side by side with the real stuff but the KO figures were twice as expensive as they are here in HK... go figure!
And one last note... not one convenience store we went into had the container milk "advertised" in the Transformers movies ... we wanted to get one so the kids could re-create the slurping scenes but alas no luck this time. ;)

You can combine ONE of the weapons with the stationary set.
It gave me an excuse to buy Power Surge Optimus Prime.
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8591/2...80a9037a_z.jpg
Note neither of the RID weapons have been available for purchase in HK.
I'm not sure if this should have its own post in news but I'll put it here for now:
For those interested here are the items and bonuses that will be on offer at HK-ACG starting on Friday.
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8871/2...d4dcdb12_z.jpg
https://c2.staticflickr.com/9/8761/2...69b6a214_z.jpg
Unfortunately it is on the same time as cybertroncon so I'll be in Shanghai and won't be able to go in to HK-AGC until Monday when all the freebies will be long gone.
The individual version of Brainstorm is available here in Hong Kong.
Hobbybase have (had) it in stock. I'm not sure why it showed up here so early.... but thought people here might be interested.
I didn't buy it as we got the SDCC set (and I haven't been in town).
New Zealand sightings:
My brother just sent me these pictures from The Warehouse in Auckland.
Buy one, get one 1/2 price on all Transformers this week.

https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8843/2...8d67fe7fa1.jpg
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8768/2...438d07e8ca.jpg
Titans Return Titan Masters have made it to Warehouse stores for $13NZ, while Toyco (online) has Titans Return Deluxes for $35NZ
Found (and brought) these die-cast RID cars at Toys'R'Us Causeway Bay (Hong Kong) yesterday:
https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8695/2...e0074f6e0e.jpg
They're actually kinda cute although a bit larger than regular diecast. We got the last Optimus and Steeljaw. There were loads of Bumblebees (my kids hate RID Bee) and 1 Strongarm left on the hanger.
Also on the shelves were these new RID products:
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8625/2...1d723e652b.jpg
RID Mission Racer - Sideswipe and Bumblebee only.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8223/2...d3a7d8dc95.jpg
RID Robot Fighter (slightly larger than Mission Racer)
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8701/2...111e93fafb.jpg
RID Mini-con Deployer (slightly larger than Robot Fighter)
https://c5.staticflickr.com/9/8596/2...4787d52603.jpg
This mini-con pack was an SDCC release wasn't it? Anyways they had a whole shelf of these packs as well.
That 15 pack isn't an exclusive, but was only found out from an RK listing, so that's probably the first retail sighting of it.
They are all either identical or minor colour differences to the regular releases.
Is that the price - HK$500?
If so, that's about AU$5.50 per Minicon... which isn't too bad if you haven't bought any yet.
Ah ok. This set was available at HKAGC (ani-com) with all the SDCC stuff so I just assumed. ;)
My kids have almost all the figures in this set so had no real interest in it other than checking the figures were the same as what they already had.
You are correct - current retail is HK$499. Be interesting to see whether it sells or not.
I went. Obi-wan was sold out by the time I was able to go, however Hobbybase got in stock of old Ben last week (although it may be sold out by now but you could always check their website).
Kylo Ren is shelf-warming at Toys'R'Us... which is understandable given how awful he looks without that helmet on. ;)
The only set I got was the Titan Force set as my daughter wanted Windblade and my son wanted Brainstorm and Sentinel but they also loved all the free Kre-o they got with the set.
The XiaoMi Soundwave and SDCC Fort Max were in stock a Hobbybase on Monday. Note there are 2 versions of XiaoMi Soundwave - the SDCC version which is around HK$400 and the regular version which seems to be 1/2 that price. The difference is purely colouring.
ah ok cool. i just bit on a 2-pack for a kinda reasonable price so im hoping i can move the kylo ren on!!
This at Universal Studios in Singapore:
http://i.imgur.com/vAcT295.jpg?1
How curious! That looks identical to the ones you can buy at Toys'R'Us stores in China other than the Universal Studios logo on the box so I'm a little perplexed at them putting "exclusive" on it. They retail in Shanghai for about AU$29.
Did they have any of the other characters in the line? - Megatron, Optimus, Bumblebee, Grimlock?
It is just the regular toys, but showing up at various Universal Studios since May, with the exclusive sticker on them.... but I guess it's technically correct if they aren't at retail in either of those two countries at the moment.
I wasn't sure if this is news or not so posting here:
Picked up a Takara Tomy Die Cast Age of Extinction Optimus Prime which was released here last week. Also available in the set is AoE Bumblebee. Cost in Mong Kok was HK$65

https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5325/2...74925dc8_z.jpg
Body is metal; arms and sword are rubber.
He's cute but the detailing of the face has a lot to be desired.
Looks tiny. I guess only being about AU$11 for diecast, it would be small.
It's not something I've heard about though.
Some photos from Christalcase while he was in Singapore and HK last weekend.
Singapore Airport toy stores - the new Rescue Bots HighTide converting bot & the redeco Megabot (big) Heatwave (quite a lot of Rescue Bots toys
actually), plus heaps of the "Alt Modes" at the top left. Also, the second RID Minicon 4-pack, and the big 15-pack. Looks like most of the Titans
Return toys as well, but they've been out for a while in Asia.
He mentioned finding a second toy store in the Airport since we were there a few years back. (it is a big airport)

Then in Hong Kong.
ToysRUs at Shatin and Tsim Sha Tsui (Ocean Terminal - probably the biggest TRU store in HK).
I can see a lot of the newer RID toys (the green strip at the bottom of the packaging), as well as the 3rd Minicon 4-pack, plus the newer Rescue Bots toys too.
As usual, the TST TRU store looks to have a Transformers diorama of some nicely painted toys. And it looks like there are still various SDCC exclusives
floating around, of the 3-pack from this year, and the Devastator from last year.

ToysRUs - they still have some old platinum sets and Masterpiece.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs10.jpg
Apita - The RID roleplay sword at the top, next to the Platinum Edition Cyclonus 3-pack. Plus heaps of Rescue Bots, and Q-Transformers, and the
first two RID Minicon 4-packs, as well as the RID roleplay Bumblebee Blaster.

Aeon - A small range, but they don't have a large toy section.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs13.jpg
So.... many... toys...
Look at poor Scourge, just pegwarming away :(
What's even scarier is it looked like that several months ago when I was over there and hasn't seemed to have changed! Talk about de ja vu!
Toys'R'Us HK seem to be really slow in updating their TR line (maybe because these guys aren't shifting... which may be because they put them on the shelves almost 6 weeks after every other store got them in).
