Finally finished the 1/100 Kotobukiya Metal Gear Rex Kit

It looks really nice and on point with the source material, the engineering of the parts and how everything goes together is pretty well done.

However the plastic to me just doesn't feels as good/strong as the modern Bandai counterparts

For me it was worst as two of the internal joint pieces broke, it didn't snap it didn't bend, it literally crumbled like a cookie when i was handling those piece while trying to install them .

overall its still very nice kit and great representation of Metal Gear Rex

They're pre-cut card mats from a detail set. If the interior is more visible I would cover it with flocking powder to make it look like carpet.

    Nice work! Why black though?

I have that kit, but got the 3A 1/100 toy to save me from building it...
Which brings us to where we are today...

the stock kit is a black version, a 'special' alternate color kit oppose to the original one.

the only non building kit of rex i would buy is the 3A 1/48 Rex... missed out before when i had the chance to get it cheap.. now.. just gonna let it go... the space it needs is too much...

Is it legit? Zvezda have a habit of not obtaining licenses for their kits.
I don't think I have the space for that but I think you should give it a go

I got the 100s cos the 48s takes up too much display space, they required combined display cases...

I'm not sure if it's legit. Now that Disney owns Star Wars I don't think unlicensed kits will get too far...

Well shit happens I guess. I dropped and broke her but luckily the heels and fingers are intact. I'm going to strip everything and start over.

I had a better time with my current lambo build. The body is covered in carbon fibre decals and satin cleared.
