Default HASBRO Masterpiece Optimus Prime Version 3 (May release)

Holy mother load, this just became available for pre-order for release in early May at only AU$230 with free shipping! Looks like it's just the bare-bones cab-robot, so no trailer or Roller, but hey, way cheaper than the TakaraTOMY version!

    Already pre-ordered mine!

Ok, so this begs the question:

How the F#^k does a trailer, roller and bunch of extra pissy accessories cost an extra $350-400 if you go for the TT version.

Something is seriously amiss here...ahhhhh my brain caught up you got me Goki you SOB.

Okay, since it's well past midday now (in NSW) I might as well confess that this was an April Fool's gag. Some tell tale signs in the image:

    1. As dirge noticed, the round sticker says APRILFOOLS over and over again.

    2. The Japanese text doesn't say 傑作 (kessaku = "masterpiece") as it usually does on this style of box from Hasbro MPs, but instead it says 馬鹿 (baka = "fool").

    And yeah, the pre-order link.

Apparently TakaraTOMY's RRP for Siege Jetfire is going to be more than double that of Hasbro's despite being apparently the exact same toy. Yeah, according to this site SG-26 Jetfire's RRP is gonna be 18000JPY ($230) before tax! If I were in Japan I'd look at just importing this toy from somewhere nearby like Hong Kong (e.g. Robot Kingdom).
