    Default Christmas!

So who here amongst the Ozformers community are avid Christmas goers?

My missus has always loved Christmas, and for the past 10 years we have put on a massive christmas display in our town for people to come and see. We not only have lights but also inflatables and always 'theme' our display. As we have a little one now, we kept the theme the same for a few years (a Holiday Park with tents, playground, fun fair close by, 'reindeer stables', kiosk for food, etc) and this year due to other commitments we're a bit behind the 8-ball in starting but we will get there, as people often come from quite far to see it and we don't want to let them down.

We have been going and cutting down our own Christmas Tree from a Tree Farm for about 4 years and have made that part of our tradition too. There's also towns like Loxton (which we'll be heading to this weekend for the first time) and Lobethal which put on huge Christmas themed events as well as the Pageant for our little boy.

The actual day itself is always hectic and its usually a relief to see the other side and get a break! But it's still always fun.

So, what does Christmas mean to you guys and gals?

Watching Die Hard in Die Hard cosplay with my sister every Christmas Eve is the long running annual Christmas highlight for me.

    That and presents.
I'm really just here for the free food and open bar.

Don’t forget Die Hard 2 and Bad Santa - both excellent Xmas flicks 😁

A shame Bad Santa 2 wasn’t as good

    I hate Christmas.

I won't go into reasons why (re: Board Rule #20), and I'm obviously not going to stop anyone else from enjoying it. But it's a no for me.

    The Grinch. Starring me.

Bloody xmas comes every year and buying pressies is getting harder. Why do we make it such a big deal with food etc so it becomes a chore. People are glad when its over cause its a hassle.

To me its about family n friends and being forced in a way to spend time together as you may give excuses during the year. Its like a mandatory public holiday where you need to spend time with others. Need less consumerism. All in all its a great time of year on boxing day.

The best Christmas movie is Gremlins.

Followed by The Muppet Christmas Carol.
