I agree with you're plusses, but I think the negative are a bit harsh, this is a rather non-formulaic show, the Autobots had a serious problem and for once it didn't involve the Decepticons trying to steal or break something. It might be a little early for something like this but it serves to help ratchet realise that the humans aren't entirely useless.
another + goes to the fear factor. it's actually quite a dark concept, especially with bulkhead describing what a swarm of them could achieve.
hopefully in the future, we get a few Decepticon only episodes too, that would b very cool.
I don't think they're meant to be homage to the Sharkticons. They're a re-imagining of the scraplets that appeared in issue 29 of the original Marvel series comic.
As for the episode, the series continues to underwhelm me. I'm continuing to watch it in the hope that it gets better.

Yeah, the Scraplets are clearly meant to be a homage to the G1 Scraplets. Although visually they look quite similar to G1's Meccanibals. Some people say that Reedman from Revenge of the Fallen was a kind of a Scraplet too, especially because Reedman himself is like a 'Scraplet gestalt'. The TF Prime Scraplets never merged though, which was kinda disappointing because as soon as I saw Scraplets in this is episode, I was looking forward to seeing them combine... didn't happen. :/
It's interesting how they made cold temperatures a weakness for Scraplets as opposed to the G1 Scraplets whose weakness was what the Cybertronians thought of as a rare legendary chemical
Being stuck inside Autobot HQ I suppose there wasn't much opportunity for them to transform -- but when I saw the Ground Bridge open up and seeing Bulkhead volunteer himself as the "bait," I was expecting him to transform and drive through the Ground Bridge, but he didn't. :/ Perhaps he was too damaged to transform by that stage... but yeah, seeing him roll through it would've been cooler than watching him awkwardly run through it.Originally Posted by KaRNiV8L_PRiME
Also, if Prime and Arcee wanted to conserve body heat, wouldn't it be more effective to do so folded up in vehicle mode? (I imagine it would reduce their bodies' surface area to volume ratio)
It's nice to have a different plot complication that doesn't involve Decepticons for a change. And the Scraplets are from Cybertron, and a neat tribute to G1 fans who would've recognised them straight away.Originally Posted by KaRNiV8L_PRiME
And I agree with what UltraMarginal said about this episode giving the humans the opportunity to save the day... the main complaint a lot of people have about humans in Transformers is their relative lack of contribution to the storyline, so here we actually have them making constructive contributions to the plot.
Seeing Raf go ape on that Scraplet... as Miko said, totally didn't see that coming!![]()
voted 3 for me it's ok but a "meanwhile episode" which of course is necessary, every series has em. All I can say now isI want scaplets toy figure, lots of em
Wanted AM partner Vanguard, Myclones Dirge, G1 Victory Leo, e-hobby Dark scream ( the black version), e-hobby Magnificus
Parts- AM partner Basher-side guns, G1 Actionmaster Elite Windmill's blades[I][B]
Nicely sums things up for me, I agree with the negatives, being a Con fan first and foremost I was disappointed by their complete absense in this episode, it would of been nice to at least of seen an update on what Starscream is up to/Megatron's progress. The transforming thing annoys me too, did you know Ratchet has only transformered once since the show started!?I'm almost beginning to forget what his alt mode looks like.
Overall it was a pretty decent episode but it definitely felt like a pointless filler in terms of the overall story, I don't mind it once in awhile but I hope we don't see these sort of episodes becoming a regular thing. Especially since the first 6 episodes have flowed so smoothly in delivering a great continuing plot.
