This isn't really new news - he's been saying that for about six months.

I liked it anyway. But alot of tv shows/movies suffered during this time, and he was not able to get an extension on the movie release date to get a better script made up.

Oh well, I look forward to the next one anyway.

The film director should never say his movie is 'crap'.
I also liked his attempt to deflect the blame to others.
Pretty sure the opening credit reads: 'A Micheal Bay Film'.

Look at all his interviews from '08 & '09. All talking up the movie, just like he's doing for upcoming movie.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Any director is gonna talk up his new movie, not like he's gonna say it's a steaming pile of crap.

But his movie didn't say written and directed though, he didn't write it. He did best he could with what he had.

I'll be there day it comes out, can't wait to see it.

I think it's a good sign that Michael Bay has admitted this and hopefully this means that he will want to do a better job with DOTM. After all, the entire point of admitting to having made mistakes is to try to avoid repeating them. Well, he certainly won't have another writer's strike to blame for DOTM.

And yeah, as the director he would accept responsibility for the film's successes and failures -- if it's a problem with an actor or writer... whatever, you're the leader, therefore you accept responsibility. Such is the burden of leadership! (Rodimus Prime'd!!)

I don't think he is capable of doing a better job.

I don't think that the writer strike had anything to do with super crap editing, soft porn pretenders, D**k bots, farting parachutes, pot cookies, the twins and on and on.

Well I liked the first movie, and I'm pretty sure he directed that, so I don't think thats fair, I think he can do a decent job.

Whether of course his remark is all talk and he actually does is another matter indeed.

He can do a decent job when he is under control by someone higher than he is. When he is given full reign, things go haywire. With the box office success of the previous film, I doubt that he has been given anything less than full reign.

Keep in mind that the issues we have seen with ROTF and even the first film, are not isolated to Transformers but can be observed in his other movies too. Bay already had a reputation before he took the Transformers film franchise and although it has since been amplified, it hasn't really changed.

Bayness is amplified in ROTF, where as in the first movie it is more restrained however wether thats from powers on high influencing him or whatever, as Goktimus states the Director is ultimately responsible for his film so It's Bay's fault that ROTF was crap, but also his fault that the first movie was decent.

While I tend to agree that he is unlikely to do better, I still think he can, and has before (not great but better).
