I use Energon Shockblast as my Classicverse Shockwave

IIRC Energon Shockblast retailed for about $40-45 and he looks like this.
G1 Shockwave was never sold in Australian stores... although I got my complete loose G1 Shockwave for $90. When it comes to G1 Shockwave, beware of fakes.

Also be aware that technically neither toy are actually part of the "Classicsverse" lines, although if you want to repurpose another toy as a makeshift "Classicsverse" Shockwave then I'd recommend Energon Shockblast.

Device Label Soundwave never sat well with me as a Classicverse substitute (too 'blocky' IMHO). I much prefer WFC Soundwave. Aesthetics / scale are about right despite the alternate mode but hey... Scourge isn't exactly G1-accurate in alternate mode either.

I once saw a Boxed G1 Shockwave and Megatron at Sheriffs Minni Cars. They Both had Myer price tags on them. What State had Myer in 84,85?

Got the Megatron that day had to leave Shocky But have one now.

Energon Shockblast is the way to go for classics

Yeah and they say you could not get G1 Megatron in NSW (I got my one in QLD in 85) BUT I still remember the shock of seeing about 7 of them at Casey's Toyworld at Erina NSW in 87. God I wish I had some cash that day.

Megatron was distributed to a few retail outlets in NSW before Hasbro quickly stopped distributing the toys when they became prohibited... I remember my mum telling me that she'd read about it in a newspaper article... I think she said that there was a product recall too, but not too sure about that. I only knew one kid growing up who had a G1 Megatron and he'd purchased it from Victoria which prohibited the toy substantially later than NSW. I remember a lot of kids at school saying that VIC was the place to get Megatron after NSW pulled them off shelves.

I guess it's possible that Hasbro may not have bothered pursuing a small toy store in a relatively small regional township for a product recall <shrug>

Especially Megatron... "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?"
