Many of us have jumped through those hoops. It's a hassle, but it's possible. The Megatron Gun Club gives you a comprehensive check list to go through. Although I didn't need to have a police background check done (since everyone who works with children already has one done) - so I was exempted from that. A lot of what I was doing was filling out forms - statutory declaration, witnesses etc.
But I found the single biggest hassle was finding that lockable glass display unit where I keep my Megatrons (you've seen it IRL). Just because they're not easy to find... I drove around all kinds of furniture stores and nobody had what I was looking for -- but there's a place called display and rack systems which has various different kinds of display units. They have an outlet in Villawood and Tempe, but I recommend the Tempe outlet (that's where I got mine from).
Installing the lock on my display room was a hassle cos I just suck at handyman stuff.
The hoops they make you jump through drove me mental... but it was worth it in the end since I'm now a legal owner of gun Transformers.![]()
