I'm looking to get a Cerebros, but I don't want a KO. I've googled around for a guide as to whether one exists and how to identify it, but haven't come across such a guide. Does anyone have any insight?

Thank you, but that's Spike. I'm only interested in Cerebros.
Yes, there are plenty of Cerebros knockoffs out there. (Other than the weird-coloured ones) often the stickers are a clear giveaway, but someone could put repro stickers on one and it would look similar to the original.
Yep, I've seen some KO Fort Maxes while I've been in China. Grossly out of scale (like the size of a Deluxe!) -- so it's impossible to confuse them for the real deal.Didn't know there were 1:1 scale KOs though... that sucks.

I'm with Sky on this one. I've only ever seen a handful of Cerebros KO's on ebay and they're either obvious crappy versions or semi accurate with dodgy stickers.
I don't see much of a problem with buying Cerebros on ebay (compared to Spike), but alternatively Jay, can I suggest http://www.fortmax.com/index.cgi
Not sure if you've purchased from there, but this store used to have a massive vintage G1 inventory. They only stock Fort Max stuff now I believe. My orders from fortmax.com have ranged between $10-$250 and I've never had a problem. I'm confident they don't stock any KO's - in fact most of those Fortress Maximus accessories in their inventory have been around for years
