Default Top 5 Generations, RTS & United toys?

Well ladies & gentle bots, now that all the Generations, RTS & United toys are out there to buy from one country or another, I'd like to know what your top 5 Hasbro/Takara toys are and why!

Please state which version of the toy you like most in your list eg. Takara Tracks and include 5 different characters (eg. don't put Hasbro Kup & Takara Kup in the same list).

After you've compiled your list, it would be great if you could briefly let us all know what you thought of the Generations, RTS & United toys as a whole, and what look forward to in the next Classics series (should there be another one).

    Have fun!

    Top 5 Generations toys!

    5. TAKARA SCOURGE
    4. E-HOBBY KUP (having the upgrade the iGear- Kup head with a cigar make this an even coller figure)
    3. HASBRO WRECKGAR
    2. TAKARA JAZZ
    1. TAKARA DRIFT AND BLURR (since they are the same mould)

HASTAK have made quite a lot of improvement comparing from the CLASSICS/HENKEI run, but so far GENERATIONS/UNITED/RTS its probably the best line of transformers, wish they have created DELUXE SHOCKWAVE and a SOUNDWAVE and probably improvements in DELUXE MEGATRON. And if ever they make another line hope they make better improvements on some loose end from previous line, until I still look forward for this cos its such an awesome line.

    1. Henkei Lambor mold. Well engineered for multiple characters homaging the G1 Countach mold.
    2. Generations Warpath. I never really had much affection for Warpath, till now.
    3. Henkei Skyfire. Another good homage.
    4. United Autobot Drift. Something different.
    5. Generations Thundercracker. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

They started off well and just seem to keep getting better.

I'm still looking forward to Arcee, Shockwave and more cassette homages like the Frenzy and Rumble pack. A proper Classics Soundwave would be nice too.
Which brings us to where we are today...

There were so many great toys to choose from, but this is probably my top five:

    1.Generations Warpath
    2.RTS Perceptor
    3.United eHobby Kup
    4.United Jazz
    5.Generations Wheeljack

Classics range should definitely continue - there are still so many other prominent G1 characters that they need to share the love with

Just so it's perfectly clear, this thread is solely about the Generations, RTS & United line of toys and not the Classics, Henkei and Universe toys.

    Keep the comments flowing bots!

Oops sorry, I kinda lump them all together as "Classicsverse." Well, if I had to pick just within Generations, RTS and United then it'd be...

    5. United Tracks. A very nice update of the G1 toy - much like Binaltech blue Tracks... but only a lot cheaper. And unlike BT Tracks, the flame deco on the bonnet is tampographed rather than stickers (although I can understand why BT Tracks' flames are stickers).

    4. Reveal The Shield Optimus Prime. I honestly thought I would dislike this toy, but after picking him up (on sale) I was pleasantly surprised. Highly articulated (I'm particularly impressed with the wrist articulation which lets him "hold aloft" his sword like He-Man ) and the biggest surprise -- he's actually compatible with G2 Laser Prime's trailer! Neat!

    3. Generations Thrust. 'Bout bloody time this toy got a mass-retail Classicsverse release. Although I already had Gentei Thrust, I went and bought a Generations Thrust which I gave away as a competition prize purely cos I wanted to show my support to Hasbro for releasing more G1 Seekers in Classicsverse.

    2. Dirge. Same reason as for Thrust. I put Dirge as #2 though cos I needed it more than Thrust -- although I already had a Gentei Thrust before Generations came out, I never got Gentei Dirge (and I don't have any of the BotCon Classic Seekers either). So getting a Classicsverse Dirge was a bit of a grail for me.

    1. Darkmount. FINALLY being own a Straxus toy is every G1 fan's wet dream come true.

Guys, read the post! He's asking for RTS/Generations/United- the intention was which are the top 5 from these current batch of classics figs.

Here are my top 5: (In no particular order)

    5. United Tracks -awesome deco, awesome fig.
    4. RTS Windcharger-one of my favs in the right size, right alt mode, awesome head sculpt- perfect homage to the g1 character. If there were a Takara one I would probably go with that for hopefully better paint. (Tacky Rub-signs + Hasbro grey just suck)
    3. Gen Warpath- Don't have him in hand, but have seen him- just awesome.
    2. United Jazz
    1. United Wheeljack

Both Jazz and Wheeljack were the most anticipated figures for me since I got into the classics line. Now that I have them- how can I deny their awesomeness? I admit they are not 100% perfect, but for me, they do the job well enough.

Overall, this line of figures was incredible. The engineering and design have definitely improved upon Universe and Classics- although those house some of my favourite classics designs also. Was also great to see Has/Tak plan remoulds for multiple uses out of moulds instead of bland repaints!

However, while the moulds were great, the paint schemes/deco were all over the place. Generations was definitely a step up from the previous Hasbro classics- sometimes competing with United versions i.e. Wheeljack. RTS was crap - Jazz anyone?.

While Takara has usually come through with clearly superior schemes in the past, i.e. Henkei, their decos were hit and miss this time around. For me it is a perfectionist issue, I want the highest quality version of a mould- and I will gladly pay extra for the perfect scheme, etc. With United, I paid a premium but there was no clear winner, where sometimes it was inferior... just look at Perceptor.

Bottom line, Takara sabotaged a lot of the figs by inconsistent decos. Where Hasbro stepped up in the Generations dept.

I really hope classics figures continue, as there are so many more important characters. I am now pining for Trailbreaker/hoist/ Shockwave.

Yeah, fair enough. I tend to think of them all synonymously.

    Previous list reprise:

    1. Henkei Lambor mold. Well engineered for multiple characters homaging the G1 Countach mold.
    1. Generations Warpath. I never really had much affection for Warpath, till now.
    3. Henkei Skyfire. Another good homage.
    2. United Autobot Drift. Something different.
    3. Generations Thundercracker. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
    3. United Jazz. A good mold with a good gimmick.
    4. United Tracks. Another good mold with nice detailing. His wings never did it for me on the G1 toy anyway.
    5. RtS Lugnut. For the greater glory of SkyShadow Megatron.
Which brings us to where we are today...
