    Default Ethical chocolate

Seeing as Easter is a big chocolate buying season, I thought I'd remind people that the vast majority of chocolate is made from cocoa harvested by child slave labour in west Africa.
The link below lists some better chocolate buying options.

Some companies have switched to purchasing their cocoa from plantations not manned by slaves - such as Cadbury's Dairy Milk (as listed in the link Demonac posted). People don't have to eat chocolate eggs during Easter anyway (especially if you're not a Christian or Pagan/Wiccan - though technically it's originally Pagan). But even if you are so religiously inclined, you could go more traditional and use painted hard-boiled chicken eggs (free range of course ).

well I get my chocolate (dark) fix every now and then from ALDI so that's good to know.. hmmm Ferrerro Rocher isnt in the list

How come only 1 brand under Nestle - kitkat? So the rest of the brands under them are all slavers chocolate then? When you think about it it's funny, were talking about chocolate from non slave source here and Kitkat's slogan is "take a break, take a kitkat" heheheh no way will the slavemasters give their slaves a break!!!

Here's a page that lists fair trade chocolate:

Although it's an NZ page, the parent page is an AU site, and I think the information is still applicable here.

Most Christians I know don't actually eat chocolate especially during Easter - they just eat it when they feel like it, like people generally do. Me, I'm not a lover of chocolate (prefer savoury food over sweet food).
