The problem with consoles is you cant upgrade the hardware as easily as a PC (no im not talking about hard drive capacity.)

Take the up coming EA title Battlefield 3 for example, On pc it supports up to 64 player, consoles are limited to 32 player. I dunno about you guys but i cant think of anything more fun than playing huge maps against as many people as possible. Also Battlefield 3 on console is limited to 30 FPS..... most current games run at 60. on pc its normally much higher. If this games FPS is being cut to 30 on console, then what can we expect from future releases?

I think its fair to say that companies like Sony and Microsoft need to start thinking about how they can adapt hardware upgrades for their next gen consoles if they really want to compete with PC rigs.

My story is I was a PC gamer but got tired of upgrading hardware, drivers, tweaking the game options, etc.. Now I am a mindless console-er using everything but the same internet connection as my opponents.

Why now? The situation has been as you describe since forever. Consoles exist because they have games you can't get on PC as well as games you can.

I've actually been getting back into a lot of PC gaming lately, mostly thanks to the Witcher, Dawn of War and Starcraft 2. Pity Diablo 3 is still a way off!
