Everything I Know I've Learnt From Transformers.
Every one of us here has a lot of 'useless' information about Transformers rattling about in our heads. But what about the 'useful' stuff? I know I learned the word 'sarcasm' as an eight year-old reading one of the first few issues of the Marvel comic where Megatron castigates Starscream. I remember asking my mum what the word meant, and I've never forgotten (particularly as the word was similar to Starscream's name itself.) And I've been using "sarcasm" ever since.
I also learnt as a 13 year-old that New Jersey is a place that can be seen from Manhattan (and that Manhattanites would, perhaps, not care if Jersey was blown off the face of the earth.) And as a ninteen year-old I learned that NASA had once sent a golden cannister off into outer space. And that's just a few examples.
Thus, this thread is to honour the real-world words, facts and trivia that we've learned through the various media of the Transformers. Discuss away...

Oh man, I learnt a massive chunk of the English language from reading Transformers tech spec bios and comic books. I had a dictionary where I'd look up the names of Transformers in there and highlight them.
Words that I can remember learning from TFs off the top of my head:
+ "Brawn" (my first TF!)
+ "Unyielding" (and thus the meaning of "yield"); from Seaspray's tech specs
+ "Optimum" and "optimism" (I was trying to find "Optimus" in the dictionary)
+ "Null"
+ "Teleport"
+ "Cerebro" (and thus the word "cerebral" and other similar words that stem from it)
+ "Barrage"
+ "Perception" (trying to find "Perceptor" in the dictionary
)
+ "Grim" (no prizes for guessing what I was trying to find there)
+ "Geologist" (Beachcomber's function)
+ "Warpath" (I knew the words war and path separately, but didn't know of the word "warpath" until ya know... I got Warpath ;p)
+ "Frenzy"
+ H2SO4 and that it's a corrosive acid
+ "Matrix"
+ "Incendiary"
+ "Shrapnel"
+ "Prone"
+ "Vulnerable"
+ "Affable"
+ "Devastate"/"devastation"
+ "Customary"
+ "Evaluation"
+ "Ruthless"
+ "Incessant(ly)"
+ "Inane(ly)"
+ "Formidable"
+ "Inhibited"
...and the list goes on and on!

Runamuck's weapon taught me what kinetic energy was. And I also discovered what 'rank' meant as well.
There was another weapon of one of my TFS that explained science for me, but it has slipped my mind.

Yeah, I learnt the meaning of both "rank" and "endurance" from Transformers.
I've also picked up a wide range of Japanese vocabulary from Transformers too, such as:
+ 正義 (justice)
+ Military ranks like 司令官 (Commander) 総司令官 (Supreme Commander) 副官 (Lt. Commander) etc.
+ 役割 ('role' - what we could call a Transformer's "function")
+ エネルゴン (Energon)
+ マトリクス (Matrix)
+ 破壊 (destruction) & 大帝 (great emperor)
+ 海賊版 (knock off)
+ 可動箇所 (points of articulation)
+ シール (stickers)
+ Names of various animals (via beast modes) such as 蝙蝠 (bat), 蜘蛛 (spider), 蜂 (wasp), 北極熊 (polar bear) etc.
+ 戦闘機 (jet fighter)
...and many others.
Car Robot taught me the difference between a Haiku and a Senryu.
