Look at the promo pics of Sideswipe on page 1. It's not so much a mod as a different official configuration.
Must have been "bring your 'special' friend to work" week when they drew up those instructions.

The promo shots bug me because they're 3D renderings, it'd be much nicer and more realistic if they were actual photographs of the toys built and posed.

I haven't built him in robot mode but in vehicle form, the big Optimus is my fav. I love how he's kinda like a movie/G1 hybrid. Totally cool and so enjoyable to build.Who's everyone's favourite from Wave 1?

I've got the whole wave but am yet to build the big sets: MEgatron, Sentinel and OP. But so far here is my top ten:Who's everyone's favourite from Wave 1?
1. Sideswipe - Excellent in both modes. My fave of the lot
2. Big Bumblebee - Amazing Robot mode
3. Small Bumblebee - Great in both modes. Reminds me of TFA Activator version
4. Starscream - Excellent Jet mode with working wheels that folds in.
5. Ratchet - Was a lot better than expected with perfect robot mode proportions, but looks basic. Alt mode is too blocky.
6. Prowl - Nice alt mode, robot mode needs a LOT of modifications. Mainly the low shoulders.
7. Mirage - Great alt mode and ok robot. Just needs knee joints.
8. Small Optimus Prime - Cute Truck mode, horrible robot mode.
9. Jazz - Runt of the litter. Disproportioned vehicle mode and crappy legs in robot mode.
