Yes. How dare TakaraTOMY give Roller show-accurate colours that was based on an actual 1984 variant of Roller! Let's shake our fists at them in anger!

Don't look silver mate. For the record TT version was g1 toy accurate hence this would be incorrect. Not to mention eyes would be yellow if they want to go that path. If we going to say roller is silver than I would argue Magnus gun should be silver as well.

I still don't like the riffle and I did shook it off!
If it doesn't look right is not. The proportion is off for me, I see more times in the cartoon that it isn't a small gun or foldable weapon. < the weapon is not a major deal for me but I expected the fingers to be all articulated.

The eyes are what set me back, as they should have done mp1 style

This is from an interview with Shogo Hasui. Source: http://news.tfw2005.com/2012/03/26/t...60#more-174660

    – How were the accessories selected?
Hasui: The gimmicks and accessories that were present with MP-1 were omitted as far as possible because I felt doing the same was not interesting. I tried to include as many new gimmicks as the cost allowed. The Spike figure, the gun storage and Roller were the result of this.
    – Was the gun storage in his back inspired by the American comics?
Hasui: There was certainly an influence from the American comics, but basically that is taken from the cartoon, too. In many scenes, Convoy transforms with his gun. I wanted to make the most of that image. I assumed Convoy had a system to transform with his gun and incorporated (the gimmick).

MP10's instruction booklet explicitly states that the gun folding gimmick came from the "recent overseas comics where the gun folds and stores in his back." This is clearly seen in the IDW comics where the rifle folds in the exact same way as MP10's rifle, hence in my translation for Hasbro, I've made a more direct/explicit reference to it.

Which is what MP1 has. Which is also why he can't hold his rifle very well (it's easily prone to falling out of his hands). MP1 already has a solid non-folding rifle and articulated fingers. I think that they wanted to do something different for MP10 by giving him the folding rifle and more solid hands that can hold the rifle a lot better than MP1. I personally appreciate this, as it helps to make my MP10 more distinctive from MP1. I would have a lot less interest in this toy if it were just a scaled down copy of MP1.

MP10's eyes can actually look more vibrant under the right lighting conditions, but I agree that under most typical/normal lighting, they can look somewhat dull. I agree that MP1's and even Hasbro's MP10's eyes are better looking, but I don't dislike the eyes on TakaraTOMY's MP10 either.

He did the gun storing in back thing in the Deamwave comics too didn't he? I couldn't be bothered to go check but that's where he pulled his gun from when he took Devastator down.

Sounds like Hasui was a little too proud to admit that Pat Lee had an influence on MP-10.

I wouldn't want to say that either

I don't recall the rifle folding up in the DW comics. But the way that MP10's rifle folds up is directly taken from IDW's Transformers Escalation, as illustrated by E. J. Su. Also, the original Japanese text is quite vague and just says, "Recent overseas comic." It doesn't specify publisher or artist.

Which is why I altered mine to have KFC Optimus hands and riffle which looks more how you put it "my gun is definitely deadlier".

Each to their own here, I have left the fiddle gun in his back compartment .

I believe his riffle was actually placed on roller

But anyway, this mp is a bit over priced and it lacked paint apps in many areas.

I am not slamming it as a boring figure but it doesn't wow me enough.

I certainly enjoyed ultra Magnus more than mp-10
