Great reading so far guys, let's keep this going!

There's a lot of Beast Wars love here so I hope they release something to keep you lot happy. I get the feeling Classics Cheetor & Dinobot didn't really hit the mark (please correct me if I'm wrong), so Hasbro still owes the BW fans something really special. While I'm not a fan of the original designs, I've really enjoyed how BW character/s were incorporated into Animated and, more recently, Prime. Before seeing organic Transformers in these post-BW shows I thought I simply didn't like the whole Transforming animals/bugs concept but I think a lot of it simply boils down to me not liking the art direction in Beast Wars.

So I for one really hope they continue to add Beast Wars characters in Prime, we saw two BW's characters in the Animated show so I expect to see four in Prime.

1)TFC exclusive of runamuck and runabout is about the most exciting stuff to look forward too atm

2)Scout sized minibots for the CHUG line

3)Im looking forward to deluxe Cliffjumper for the whole purpose of putting him in with my CHUG stuff after a few modifications otherwise nothing excites me from Prime

4)I have no interest in the shattered glass-verse so the botcon toys are a very easy pass, that and i dont think they look any good.

5)at the moment i think 2012 will be a very dull year, but i have a feeling we might have something to brighten our darkest hour by the middle of the year.

    6)Finishing off my Stunticon/Menasor custom.

I'd love you to elaborate on your thoughts on the art direction.

TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE -- The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary Comic Book series that could have been...
TRANSFORMERS: UNITY -- the BotCon 2016 Comic Book that should have been...

    You may regret asking this.

With Beast Wars, they went too organic looking for my liking. I understand that they're robots in disguise and the alt modes should be accurately portraying a rat, cheetah etc. but in Beast Wars, that came at the expense of a decent robot mode. They're damn ugly and not in a good way! Most of them are very round, sometimes to the point where arms and legs look like a couple of overgrown chipolatas strung together. The colours might look okay on one toy but throw a few together in the mix and you've got the magic mushroom squadron from Psychadelic City. And then you've got the head molds...Oh dear. And how about those alt modes! Do they look so incredibly amazing to justify the often lacking robot modes? Two words: PLASTIC FUR

I'm sorry, I tried to be diplomatic but just like some people dislike the Animated aesthetic, I dislike the Beast Wars look.

    1) What single toy are you most looking forward to (that's already been confirmed eg. TFP Voyager Starscream)? Deluxe DOTM Wheeljack

    2) What single toy are you praying comes out in 2012? Deluxe DOTM Mirage

    3) Are you excited about the Transformers Prime toys hitting Australia? "Excited is hardly the word I would use." -- my faith in them coming out here has been shaken, so I've already started getting them from overseas. So by time they come out here I can't say I'd be excited... I'd be happy, but not overtly thrilled.

    4) Are you interested in any of this years Botcon toys? Meh... not really. I'll get one if I can get it cheap enough (as always is my policy with any toy )

    5) Do you think 2012 will be a good year for Transformers toys in general? I don't think it will be an especially great or terrible year

    6) Do you have any Transformer toy goals in 2012?
Finish DOTM (give me Mirage!!) and Prime.

A lot of you guys love the original Beast Wars designs and I completely respect that. It's just not for me.

    I regret nothing!

I was simply curious, and completely get what you mean. And I'm the biggest (I cant think of the word right now, like ironically biased) when it comes to Transformers. And my love of the BW toys stems from my love of the BW characters.

Back on topic - 2012: year of the Dragon... Masterpiece TM2 Megatron!!!

    1) What single toy are you most looking forward to (that's already been confirmed eg. TFP Voyager Starscream)?

    Probably TF:Prime deluxe Wheeljack

    2) What single toy are you praying comes out in 2012?

    A Generations Deluxe Trailbreaker.

And if they do some of the Fall of Cybertron Dinobots, they do them all!

    3) Are you excited about the Transformers Prime toys hitting Australia?

Yes, I've jumped the gun and imported the preview wave and enjoyed each. The line is good and the shelves need a break from the Bay-verse toys.

    4) Are you interested in any of this years Botcon toys?

Yes. I wanted a (back of the box art) Red Tracks since the RTS toy came out. I like the general idea and look of Overlord. And Treadshot is a good toy to repurpose as Side Swipe and a good colour scheme for the toy too. Some of the other rumours are interesting too.

    5) Do you think 2012 will be a good year for Transformers toys in general?

Unsure at the moment. The 'movie trilogy' line is a bit vague and the Prime line may suffer from too few show characters. (Already two deluxe Bumblebees and two deluxe Cliffjumper by Wave 1). The Fall of Cybertron toys could have potential or could be three of four figures in the latest Generations line. And there doesn't seem to be a hint of new Kre-o toys.

    6) Do you have any Transformer toy goals in 2012?

Being more selective in what I purchase, and what I keep. I have lost the desire to have a full set of anything. The other goal is to get a full shelf display set up in my spare room.
