No, definitely not colour blind here, and MP21 is definitely within the yellow part of the light spectrum, it's just Volkswagen's signature deeper yellow, and matches his G1 cartoon and toy colours. A bright lemon yellow beetle would just look... Odd. Also lemon yellow figures just look tacky imo (see CW Sunstreaker)

Well a week of 41 degree temperatures took its toll. The upper jaw fell off my Grimlock AOE display stand yesterday . Seems every 6 months a piece falls off the big bugger.

Don't know if he's going to survive until our house extention with the Transformatorium room is ready.

North Rocks is closer to you. I was there on Monday and they had the new RiD Warriors.

Until 1987, most of my TFs came from Roselands; Toyworld, Target and Grace Bros. In 1988 we moved to Castle Hill, and from then a good chunk of my TFs came from Kmart Castle Hill.

Gah... Machine Wars! I imported that entire line from the U.S. to Japan (whereas I was living at the time) because initially they were a U.S. KB Toys and Kay Bee exclusive line. Then when I moved back to Australia, I shipped all my TFs back (in many BIG boxes), including all of my MWs. It was cool for a while, but then in 1999 MW came out here and shelfwarmed badly, then, as you've rightly recalled, were discounted. Was it Kmart who had the exclusive MW Versus Sets*?

You poor sod! Here's hoping the temperature gets into manageable territory soon!

If I were post on Facebook the majority will say is orange.

To be honest is all down to preference , this isn't a deal breaker for me.

Have not seen VW in this colour either.

And here are pics showing the colour accurate that the current mp isn't accurate either.

You need to hang out in place where more crappy VW bugs drive by Drifand. I've seen plenty of yellow dubs in this colour. Cheese mobiles!

Dammit Transformers, ever time I think I'm out, you pull me back in again!

Well I am not against the colour, I am just wondering if they were going to do a yellow bee that's all.

with licensed cars Hasbro or TT wont be able to do anything if the car manufacturer chooses their color shade for their car being licensed. This is what happened with Lamborghini choosing the yellow shade for Tigertrack

May not be lemon yellow but is sure not orange. As I provided pics that it wasn't orange either is still a valid argument .

The name bumble bee suggest it to be yellow like a bee, last checked I took some close ups of a bee is yellow not orange.

$5 says the yellow has zero to do with licensing. Is just what TT picked and not what VW is going to have a last say in it.
I know very well I am not the only person who feels this way, but is not end of the world. I will live with it.

Btw not really crazy over it. Only felt TT would have done one just like silver streak.

Also why the first BT Tracks was yellow. It was later when Hasbro managed to convince Chevy to allow them to use blue for Alternators Tracks that Takara were then able to release BT Tracks in blue. Given the incredible amount of realistic detail on MP Bumblebee's alt mode (e.g. driver side only wing mirror, VW logos on every hubcap etc.), it wouldn't surprise me if the shade of yellow required pre-approval from Volkswagen.
