I personally wouldn't say the movies "breathed fresh life" into Transformers (I would reserve that honour for Beast Wars*) -- but it certainly has massively boosted the popularity of Transformers and thrust it into the mainstream public consciousness. Sales of TF toys doubled after the 2007 movie came out

Well you've been keeping up with transformers since day 1 so I can see your point. But to me who had nothing to do with transformers since g1 ended it gave new life to my interest in transformers.
