    Today I saw an ad for 3d printing on TV. Some sort of engineering firm.Looks cool.

    indeed it does look cool.
    that is one of the things that got me interested in 3d printing, followed it since 2005. Still saving for one [An Up Plus 3d printer]. But instead of just sketching something, actually building it. And without the loss of fingers or skin on the smaller fidley bits. power tools are not my friend

    there is a kickstarter link on the page i posted above. I think you could get one + plastic for $50 before but that supporter package has since sold out and the cheapest option now is $75 + more plastic.

    finally got the 3d printer (Up Plus 2) and after a motherboard change got it working. very happy with it thus far
