Oh I like the originals. Just the countless repaints that I hate. Just because they're repaints and it's because that they're repaints that's why we have less of the toys that we want per case

And yet you still have these repaints in your collection (remember that these lists are meant to comprise of toys only from your own collection )

I agree that the over-saturation of Bumblebees has spoiled the franchise and prevented other toys from seeing the light of day (e.g. DotM DLX Leadfoot, Soundwave & Quejack etc.), but I don't think that alone necessarily makes them terrible toys per se. I saw that HA Bumblebee w/ Backfire at Target yesterday... an utterly pointless and random looking repaint that does nothing for me. But it doesn't look like a flawed toy to me.

MP3 Greenscream.. Nice robot, nice jet. Nice form-changing robot. Not a Transformer, looks nothing like Starscream coz he Green!

crankcase76 made an epic comment about this toy when he came over to my place a few weeks ago; seeing MP03 on my MP shelf, he - completely innocently (as someone who's relatively new to TF collecting) - assumed that it was MP Acid Storm! That says it all, doesn't it? If you didn't know that this was meant to be Starscream, you'd guess otherwise! When I told him it was Starscream, he was shocked and apologised for the confusion, but I told him it was okay -- a perfectly understandable assumption to make considering that he's a GREEN Seeker!

Macross man. MP Starscream is just a craphouse toy that seems designed more to be a transformable model/display piece than something you can actually play with. I know the same comment might be said about all Masterpieces, but Starscream takes the powder -- the frailty of the design, lack of balance and poor quality plastic used on MP03 really makes it difficult to play with this toy. Subsequent uses of the mould have used better plastics, but the inherent design makes them difficult as play toys.

Energon Grimlock and Swoop (and by default, Mega Dinobot as well ).

What a couple of horrible toys. You'd think that copying G1 Grimlock's look and Transformation would make a nice toy. Apparently not. Out of proportion body parts, floppy and robot mode is smaller than Swoop. Oh man.
Swoop, um, yeh. Big legs for an agile flying guy. Simple transformation and his groin splits in half for no reason. His arms don't peg into his shoulders at all, despite them looking like they should and he TOWERS over Grimlock. oH it would appear he isn't a Pteranodon anymore, he has digressed into the smaller pteradactyl. Yet he still is bigger than Grimlock. Whaa?

Of course, nothing could beat them!

Oh yes, it could actually, put the two of them together and you get. Umm, I don't know. 2 Crappy robots on top of each other? Honestly, Mega Dinobot looks like it was designed by a four year old. With Barbies. That had been melted in a fire.
Whoever designed these toys should have been sacked/shot at the blueprint stage.

In fact, I hate it so much, I can't get rid of it. It's just so hideous, I must have it in my collection.

To make matters worse, their hands aren't even compatible with the 5mm post weapon system, which was meant to be a universal feature of all Unicron Trilogy Transformers (so that they can exchange weapons and hold Mini-Cons etc.). They don't come with weapons of their own and they're not compatible with any other weapon from the UT toys.

Beast Wars TM2 Cybershark.

One of the greatest Transformers characters ever (Sky-Byte) was a recolour of one of the line's worst moulds.

This toy was also really overrated. Toy reviewers kept on raving on and on about how awesome this toy was, which hyped up my expectations - so I grabbed it as soon as I saw it... what a massive disappointment. I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed if it weren't for all the positive reviews that this toy got.

Beast Machines Nightscream.

An utter piece of $#!* that should have been downscaled at least two price points. Not even worth selling - I gave him away to my then-girlfriend's boss's son.

This toy would've been way better as a smaller carded figure.

Animated Blitzwing.

Designed so the plastic couldn't survive being transformed into tank mode, and then built even more incorrectly in the factory.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that problem with this toy!! I later got TakaraTOMY Animated Blitzwing which is made from superior plastic and is able to transform correctly to all 3 modes (though I prefer the colours on Hasbro's).

Well I don't have all the repaints in my collection, thus why I didn't make it my actual bottom 10 list and only listed bumblebee repaints as a joke.
A joke. An obvious joke as well Speaking of that HA BB I own the stealth repaint version because I had to get that to get HA Roadbuster. That toy, despite its intention to serve as a HA has a rather disappointing robot mode imho compared to its deluxe counterparts. I guess I could have used that in my top 10 but it didn't come off the top of my head.

Binaltech Grimlock/Wheeljack has by no means an intuitive transformation (particularly the upper body), but he *can* be transformed without issue with practice (even getting Wheeljack's head through the bonnet), so i still like that toy.
That said, it is definitely the hardest toy in my collection to come back to & transform after not touching for a while!

Don't get me wrong. i really like wheeljack, Looks badass or badarse in both modes.

I personally don't think G1 1984 Jazz is that bad, but he's my least favourite of the first year Autobot cars -- and the one I never got as a kid (my G1 Jazzes are reissues ).

Not really. While Binaltechs are rather complex, their transformation schemes are usually reasonably intuitive, whereas Wheeljack and Grimlock are - as kurdt_the_goat said, counter-intuitive. I find other BTs' transformations to be complex, but satisfying and worth the effort, whereas with Wheeljack and Grimlock I just find that the end result isn't worth the effort put into transforming them.

[Ode to a Grasshopper]

Hmm...It's hard to think of 10, let alone put them in order.
I don't have a lot of TFs I actually dislike, so there are a few that are just 'meh' as opposed to actually bad in here. TM2 Cheetor would have made the list, but he got ditched a while back.


-Universe Tankor Octane.
Fun character, lame toy. Animated Blitzwing is also a subpar Triple-changer toy-wise, but I loved the take on the character in the show, his tank mode reminds me of the tank from Metal Slug, and the fact that his German-soldier-styled toy can pull off a Nazi salute cracks me up. Octankor

-Reissue Soundwave.
Saw him loose and cheap in store and got him along with Cybertron-mode United Soundwave. My much-loved childhood Soundwave was a little worse for wear, so why not? On the list not because he's bad - he's not, even now he's still a sweet toy - but because within a week or so of my buying him MP Soundwave was announced.

-KO Classics Ultra Magnus.
The mold is actually pretty good, but I really wish I'd known there was a KO before I bought him so I could have checked whether he was legit. As it turns out he wasn't, so he's on the list.

-DotM Laserbeak.
Got him 'cos he was really cheap and I liked the character in the movie. In fact, besides the Rosie Huntington-Whitely fan service he was the only bit of the movie I liked. Robot mode is OK if a bit hard to keep standing, but as with all Bayverse beastformers he turns into nothing and would have been better as a Robot Replica.

-Movie1 Arcee.
I scored the black version at a bargain price, but the fugly face, loose shoulders, and less-than-dynamic poseability give her a place in Odie's Bottom 10.

-United Ark Unicron.
Not a bad toy as such, just very forgettable. Transformed him once or twice, then put him in storage.

-BW Razorbeast.
Again, not a very good toy. Disappointing from the usually excellent Beast Wars line.

-Galaxy Force Nitro Convoy.
Bought to repurpose into Override, but s/he's just not a good toy. Hard to balance in robot mode with dwarf arms, made-up car-thingy vehicle-mode...Surely with the freedom of 'futuristic' alt-modes HasTak could make something that transforms into a decent robot?

- Cybertron Brushguard.
Just really not-fun. A botanist Decepticon struck me as interesting, but in the Odieverse he can stay and guard the base.
